Snorkelling was good (from boat) with pretty coral and nice bottom. Water temperature about 24C (75F) smooth as silk. We went from Sanur.
The zoo we went to on the island is a concrete courtyard about as big as a suburban backyard
with a few birds in small cages and a few concrete tanks with little turtles being bred.
Bit of a downer really, but we got a photo of us holding a turtle.
My wife was really upset and asked why no food, no leaves etc and staff said that the creatures would only crap and make work for staff. Everything was barren.
Staff describe the facility as a "Sanctuary" and ask for donations . Too late we realised that we'd been "had".
