“Authentic Balinese cuisine”
Reviewed February 20, 2014

We visited Bumbu Bali because of the reviews it was given on trip advisor of restaurants in the Tanjung Benoa area. They offer complimentary transfers to and from your hotel, which was nice seeings we were staying at the Mulia so wouldn't have been able to walk.

We ordered the banquet which was to allow you to try 80% of their menu. Although it was wonderful to try a bit of everything, it was very overwhelming with the amount of food for 2 people!

Nevertheless, we enjoyed the majority of the dishes we had that night and also enjoyed the traditional Balinese dance performance as well.

We would recommend people come here if they want to try traditional cuisine.

“Put it on your "Must Visit" List!”
Reviewed February 20, 2014

We have been dining at Bumbu Bali for many years and it really is a great offer. The food, the staff, the restaurant itself........everything is top notch. Servings are very generous....be guided by what the staff advise as most tend to over order. It never varies......this is a restaurant you should experience when in Bali. You should book.....they are always fairly busy. Mid range pricing.

“Great, as always.”
Reviewed February 19, 2014

We try to go to this restaurant each time we visit Bali as it is special. And, so we made it a priority on our last trip. From the moment you step into the restaurant the staff welcomes you both warmly and loudly (the kitchen). We generally take the set menu and have never, ever been disappointed. There are two restaurants of the same name ie I and II on the same road but both are excellent. Good, hearty authentic Balinese food with high levels of hygiene (not always the case on the charming island). I can't recommend this restaurant enough as we have such lovely memories of every visit. There is also a little retail area which sells various cooking books and implements - it gets me every time. Thanks again guys for a lovely dinner.

“Authentic Balinese Cuisine”
Reviewed February 18, 2014

I went here for dinner together with my wife. We were picked up by Bumbu bali driver from our hotel in nusa dua and as soon as we enter the restaurant front, we were greeted by whole staff. Me and wife was so surprised with the generous amount of reception from the staff and the chef.

From the menu we choose Balinese Rijstaffel which cost us Rp.490,000 for 2 people which i can consider relatively cheap (about AU$48 for 2 people). We had a 3 course meal (entree, main dish, and dessert). We had a soup for entree, i think it's a chicken soup. For main dish we have basically more than we can imagine. They gave us a varieties of food, ranging satay until vegetables. We tried so hard to finish it but its just to much for our stomach to handle. As dessert we had fruits from mango to pineapple. The food overall was fantastic and very authentic. each individual food that was served had a special taste and it just melt it your mouth

“If you are after traditional food this is the place to go”
Reviewed February 18, 2014

Went there for a dinner, didn't have a reservation, our driver suggested the place as we were looking for a place where we can get A-Z traditional food and drinks.

We reached there pretty late, at around 9:50 pm. When we entered, ppl working on the grill and bbq on the left greeted us by saying something in local language, it was a chorus, seemed like a welcome rhyme to me :)

The food was great, we were 4 ppl, ordered the 2 set menus (1 set for 2 persons) and shared altogether. There was so much food on the table we could not finish all of it! Not expensive, around 35 AUD per person for all that.

Ordered rice wine as arak was too strong for me, it was enjoyable.

A must go if you want to taste the true traditional balinese food.
