“Lovely place very friendly”
Reviewed May 20, 2010

We have just come back from a very lovely stay at the Crow trees farm. We were staying for the usual – a trip to Alton towers! Crowtress is perfectly situated for alton towers, only a couple of minutes drive from the park. The farm itself is lovely, very peaceful and set in the most amazing countryside with views to die for, you could look at the view for hours. Chris and Dianne are very welcoming and helpful, we were recommended a lovely Chinese restaurant in a local village and nothing was too much trouble. The room was in the main house and was very lovely, in a country style with views over the valley. I think the rooms in the barn are a little bigger but our room was fine. The breakfast was spot on, we had a full English with toast, cereal and all the trimmings and everything was perfect and really set us up for a day at alton towers.

What really made this hotel special is the setting and the animals, I made firm friends with a very geriatric black cat and could have spent an age watching the goats and lambs and the view in general. I would recommend this hotel for people staying at alton towers, there are a lot of B+Bs nearby and some look and sound a bit hit and miss so its always nice to know you have a place that you can use as a good base when ‘up north’ all in all a very lovely stay in a idyllic setting.

We stayed at Crowtrees Farm as the location to Alton Towers and the fact that we like to have the freedom to allow our wee boy to play outside. We received a warm welcomed by Diane and shown our Chalet. The location of the Chalet was superb, the views over the Valley were stunning and the room was warm but i did feel it was 'tired' and in need of a bit of an update. The outside needed to be looked after a bit. The Bathroom was tiny and very cold (no heating at all) it felt like as they had a new barn conversion the chalet has been a little negleted. While this seems a little negative the whole experience was really good and I would say if you have small kids the location to Alton Towers was very good and the breakfast was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for Diane. Overall the stay was really good and I would return but would request the Barn conversion.

Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely owners of this cosy, welcoming retreat a stones throw away from Alton Towers. We arrived late at night after a long day at the park and a hearty meal at the local Star pub, which had been recommended by Crowtrees. They gave us clear directions over the phone and were waiting to greet us and show us around. The rooms were warm, clean and homely with very comfy beds in a converted barn. Our boys enjoyed sleeping in the bunk beds and exploring the grounds. Breakfast was delicious and taken in the farmhouse. We felt so relaxed that we lingered over this for quite some time and didn't want to leave.
