I am someone who uses Trip Advisor a lot. of all the reviews i have ever left this is by far my worst. i do not write negative reviews lightly and 90% of the reviews i write are 4 or 5 stars.

Myself and my family stayed in STANTON LODGE in August. We were so excited to go to this "Luxury" lodge. The location is good. No denying that. It's everything else that is the problem.
The vents in the patio doors were not vents. They were holes. Because of this flies were getting in all day. The only thing offered to us were two disgusting fly papers. Which were never replaced in the whole week (see pictures). Outside there was a sign for a fire extinguisher but no fire extinguisher, in one of the rooms there were no blinds- at all. So every morning as soon as the sun came up we were woken up- not the most relaxing holiday.
The outside area was dirty with party poppers and cigarette butts and the main table inside has been botched instead of replaced and badly varnished so it is sticky and horrible.
The wear and tear of the furnishing normally would be a big issue and we understand these things happen (all the leather is coming off the sofas) but when so many other things went wrong- it means the smaller things seem bigger.
On the Wednesday evening my brother was cooking us all a meal. Then the gas ran out!!!!!!! We rang the office and were given an emergency number. Over 50 mins later a man turned up with no apology just a "these things happen and 50 mins isn't long to wait" it is TOO long to wait for something that should never happen. All the food was ruined!!
One of the by the washing machine/dryer has also been botched and is illegal (see picture) when I mentioned this to the company Amos leisure- they said a previous guest must have done
it HA!!! Such a lie.
Everything I have mentioned I mentioned to them in a letter of complaint. They blamed everything on an employee who they sacked whilst we were there!! Took no responsibility for the fact he was their employee- and therefore represented them!
When I sent my letter of complaint they said they would respond in two weeks. They responded in 3 weeks- which just annoyed us even more.
They even had the audacity to say that we misused the hot tubs and threatened that they could have turned the hot tubs off!! They said the fire extinguisher, holes in doors, non replacement of fly paper, running out of gas- were all the fault of this employee that they sacked and therefore not their fault and no compensation offered.
When I said that we had paid a premium for the lodge and expected a premium service they threw the amount we paid in our faces and said "that's not that much" erm!! Who the hell are you amos leisure!!
We as a family were so excited for this holiday and when we were out of the lodge (pools cavern, Alton towers) we had a great time. But the accommodation does not meet our standards... And the service after they have your money- IS A JOKE! Would we return to the Peak District- yes.
Would we ever return to stanton lodge or any of the lodges on the estate or ever book anything with Amos Leisure- a resounding NO for all 14 people who stayed there.

Had my big birthday stay with friends here. Absolutely fabulous weekend at this lodge. Spotlessly clean and good quality fixtures and fittings. Slept 8 very comfortably. Can honestly say it was GREAT! All of us would recommend a stay here.

We stayed in Stanton lodge and between 14 of us it was a really good price. A perfect base for a girls weekend away, plenty of parking, brilliant pub a 5 minute walk away (Ye Olde Star Inn - would highly recommend) and Alton Towers a 5 minute drive away. The lodge was clean, had plenty of space and seating for everyone, the kitchen was really well equipped and the 3 fridges were definitely needed, even had a bag of ice in the freezer, great outside space, wasn't that warm but was really sheltered, we loved the two hot tubs and the BBQ area was brilliant just outside the side door.
Everyone was really pleased but our only criticism is that although 5 of the 7 rooms were ensuite there were no doors on the ensuites which was a bit awkward and actually meant 14 girls using one bathroom at night! Wasn't too bad during the day once we had a system of bag in front of the room door, don't enter, but the bedroom doors also didn't lock so a breeze along the hallway and the doors would open anyway...

We arrived at the Wooton Lodge on Good Friday, having stayed 3 years ago in the Cotton Lodge we knew what to expect,as last time it was wonderful.......what a shock!!!The lodge was disgusting, food under cooker, grime on floor, most of pots dirty, lounge floor had not been cleaned sweets and dust under settees, rug in lounge stained and filthy had to be thrown away, downstairs bedroom inch of dust on all fittigs,en suite all paintwork peeling away, radiators so dirty needed replacing, settees all springs gone, dvd did not work, table and bench food splashes everywhere and up the glass on staircase,no matteress protecters, dryer on washer took hours and the hot tub was only big enough for 4 people old and battered.........do I need to go on.We use Hoseasons to book lodges twice a year, this is the worst and most expensive.Message me if you would like some good recommendations for other parks. The owners are not interested have complained and cleaners were sent to clean again when we arrived, they agreed it was a shambles and the owners had been told.Such a shame, gorgeous area, and they only have 7 lodges to maintain, just a joke.....................................We take around 8 or 9 holidays a year this is my first complaint on here.

We stayed in Dimmingsdale Lodge for a week during the Easter holidays. For nearly £1000 for a week, I expected to be blown away, but this lodge was nothing special. The first thing to greet us as we entered the Ramshorn Estate was a container full to the brim of rubbish. Not very nice!
The lodge was clean enough (just). The modular seating in the lounge area was dreadful, and needs to be replaced immediately. All of the seats had the springs coming through them. They were all individual and moved around easily on the wooden floor (this lodge was meant to sleep 8 although the sofas could only sit 6)!!
The large dining table and benches hadn't been cleaned properly in i don't know how long and still had the remains of other peoples food stuck in the crevices!!
The kitchen had everything that you would require from a self catering facility.
The bedrooms were nice (upstairs much nicer than downstairs). There was no divan trim on the beds and no pillow protectors on the pillows. The beds were comfortable though.
The bathrooms were nice enough although starting to show signs of wear and tear.
There was a lack of information provided in the lodge and nothing to provide us with local attractions.
No wi-fi! (Really)!!
The hot tub was nice especially after a day at Alton Towers.
The fire was a hit or a miss and had to pay £4 for a basket of logs. I feel this is a bit much considering the price we paid for the lodge. Logs can be found cheaper at local garages.
Some homely touches wouldn't go amiss such as a clock, curtains, blind on the full glass front door, table lamps and side tables!
Unfortunately i feel somewhat deceived by the website.
