We absolutely love staying at Gowanbank. Having visited twice, we feel we have found a hidden gem amongst the stunning scenery that surrounds. The rooms are beautiful, five star and the breakfast...wow!!! From the moment you arrive, you feel warm and welcome. The first time we visited, we automatically felt special and more like relatives/friends. A genuinely lovely couple own Gowanbank and the atmosphere of the place portrays this. We whole heartedly recommend Gowanbank to anyone who wants to find somewhere really special in amongst stunning Ayrshire. It is always hard to leave, particularly the spectacular views from Gowanbank, the awesome breakfasts, luxurious rooms and wonderful people. Thank you for creating such an incredibly special Scottish gem. Can't wait to visit again!!!

If you have been looking for a B and B and have stumbled on this one, book it. It is fantastic. Isabel and Willie are the perfect hosts and getting to know them is a treat. The area is wonderful, the beds are so comfortable, the food, you will get a true Scottish breakfast in the morning for those that want that or just a light fare. Everything has a special touch to it from the decorating to the linens, it is really beautiful. There is a bit of a running path into the next town if you like to run, and just walking around is beautiful as you can see the hills surrounding you. You can use this as a point to travel from, or like us, we use it to visit relatives in the neighbouring town of Darvel. We have been there at least five times and will never go anywhere else when we need a B and B in that area. It is a good stop to go to when you leave the airport as it is only about an hour away. I really can't say enough about it, but if you are a family, single a couple or on your own this is the place to go and you are missing out if you don't. Terry and Ian Kennedy of Southampton Ontario

Room Tip: The Lanfine Deluxe suite is the first room we ever stayed in, if it is available book that it is rea...

We decided to stay at the Gowanbank for a relaxing child free night. When we arrived we were made to feel instantly welcome and at home. The room was absolutely fantastic and luxurious with fantastic views out over the hills. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Both Willie and Isabel made us feel welcome and couldn’t have looked after us more. We only stayed for one night but feel like we have known them a lot longer. You can see that they both take a lot of pride in the house and the service which they provide. This makes for a lovely experience for their guests. Would not hesitate to return to the Gowanbank.

Visiting Gowanbank house for the 5th time. It feels like coming home and after a very warm welcome from Isabel and Willy, we were "home". This beautifull maintained property gets looked after with love and attention. It is a very unique place with interesting history. The garden is lovely to sit in and looks into the valley. Inside the house there are several lovely places to relax or do some reading by the fire. Every room and corner has been decorated so tastefully by Isabel. The bedrooms are so comfortable, the breakfast a real treat. Gowanbank House should not be missed while visiting Scotland. Heather and dad. Holland.
