Lovely quaint hotel, staff very friendly, our room was really nice with a separate lounge area with a sofa, chairs and tv, the bathroom was huge and very clean. Our evening meal was good, nicely presented and tasty sreved by pleasant staff. The only let down was the continental breakfast, the items looked very bland and not at all inviting but the toast was satifactory. We would stay at this hotel again but only if it was a special deal.

Room Tip: We stayed in the pink room which was lovely

I unexpectedly booked dinner on a Monday night when one of three local rotary clubs meets there that same time! Yea! A make-up amongst truly wonderful and welcoming community activists. When I checked out before a club member could bring me a club banner, the hotel shipped the banner to me at their expense. Such kindness which follows how we were treated there. If you are looking for a cookie cutter franchise, this isn't it. This is a family run establishment in a tucked away area of town. I appreciate the difference.

Luckily we stayed here on a groupon deal, if we'd have paid full price i'd have been most unhappy.
Good- friendly staff, free parking, reasonably clean

Bad- dated decor throughout, dated & uninspiring food menu (fruit salad, apple pie, carrot cake for pudding?!), our room smelt of stale urine coming from the bathroom- this was better if you kept the bathroom door shut at all times, hole in the bed sheet, smell of damp up the stairs to the room, they ran out of ice at the bar. My husband wanted a full English breakfast (this was a £5 addition) the sausage was rock hard. I kept with the inclusive continental option, probably the worst i have ever had. Poor selection, poor presentation, poor quality. The coffee was too weak for my liking, but then i guess some people don't like it strong. The toast & butter was fine so i mainly ate that for breakfast.
I can see from other reviews many people love this hotel, so maybe we are just used to better and a bit spoilt. But if think you are like us and like the finer things in life, then don't bother.

We stayed there at the end of May for our wedding anniversairy. Has a great time: It is a lovely little hotel with a nice garden area. In our room there was a hot tub which was a nice surprise. Dinner and breakfast was good. Staff were lovely and helpful.

It is near shops and Rushcliffe country park (is a lovely park).

We were lucky to have good weather that weekend which really made the weekend.

We booked with Group on.

The Country Cottage Hotel was a pleasant surprise, in a quiet location south west of Nottingham with easy access to the Motorway and Nottingham itself. Breakfast was fantastic.

This was my first visit to this quiet, friendly hotel. The welcome at reception was very good indeed and the service in the restaurant was excellent. Food was high quality with a good menu choice. The rooms are all different but have a genuine 'cottage' feel. They are large, clean and comfortable with 'quirky' features such as a chaise longue and oak beams, narrow staircases and rooms with separate sitting rooms. Free wifi is available throughout the hotel and there are lots of pleasant seating areas in the comfortable, friendly communal/bar areas. The location is a short drive from the centre of Nottingham, but is in a quiet village setting with some pleasant walks nearby. Staff could not be more friendly and helpful - a most pleasant stay all round.

Room Tip: All the rooms are different so worth researching in advance what you'd like.

My husband and I booked this hotel through the Groupon deal for Dinner bed and breakfast. First impressions of the hotel were very good with a warm welcome from reception staff who showed us to our room. As others have said the room was a little tired and dated, but we found it adequate with a lovely comfy bed. We sat out in the courtyard with a drink in the evening and were given the menu to look at. Our orders were taken and within 10 minutes we were called in to our table, where we were left to sit for a further 20 minutes before our starters arrived. Food was OK but not the best we have ever had. Breakfast was limited and you pay extra for a cooked breakfast.
All in all we enjoyed our stay, but would probably not go back.
