After the Lodge in Silver City were staying at closed, we desperately tried to find a new place to stay at. Unfortunately, nothing looked very nice, and a little too expensive. After almost giving up, we found The Black Range Lodge ( BRL). It looked all right and it was surrounded by greenery and hills in their pictures. But in our heads all of us weren't looking forward to staying at this place. When we arrived, we were absolutely amazed. It was beautiful. They had a beautiful chicken coop, and many other beautiful strawbale buildings. The owners were on vacation, but their wonderful mother Betty, was there. Our first night was discouraging. Downstairs, two families had the music turned up after long after 9 and we're being very loud.
The next day we played Pool, Foosball, and met the owners, Catherine and Pete. In the morning they made a delicious breakfast for us that you couldn't find anywhere else in the world. We sorted apples, had a great time, and walked down to the little creek across the street. Our trip was cut short by a rattlesnake bite on my daughter's hand. We had to go down to El Paso, and stay there for a few days. However we had a marvelous time at The BRL. We're planning to go on another trip at the end of summer.
Our room (room 7) had comfortable beds, views looking out on the garden , and the mountains. Although, there was a extremely small bathroom, and it wasn't the cleanest place I've ever seen (I clean houses as a part time job) our family enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone who appreciates beauty.
