“Perfect for families”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

Our 'Hedgehog' cabin was wonderful. The facilities within Alpine Grove enduced squeals of delight from our 5 year old and 3 year old and our 1 year old toddled along behind them. They spent many hours on the trampoline, playing in the den, on the climbing frame and walking through the woods. Our cabin was perfect. There is a large master bedroom, a kids room with bunks and a single bed, a large family bathroom and a great sitting/dining open-plan area big enough that at night we could put the travel cot into it so that our toddler could also have his own space (and we could all get more sleep!) I would highly recommend it to anyone with kids and there is lots to do in the area. We were there for a wedding but also squeezed in a trip to the beach at Lyme Regis which has a great little aquarium which the kids also really enjoyed.

our stay was lovely, the cabin was perfect and had everything we needed init, we stayed for 5 nights in january 2013

I would most definatley recommend a stay, and we would be more than happy to stay and visit again, the location is ideal and not to far away from nearest town and only 10 miles from lyme regis on the south coast which we visited and enjoyed such a nice place. we did some walking and exploring around the area and there would be plenty to do in the season march/april onwards, however being january we had a nice relaxing quiet break all in all. Nice friendly people and a very nice quiet pleasant atmosphere away from the dramas of busy and fast noisey towns.

The cabins are lovely and set out in a nice way, we enjoyed getting snuggled up infront of the log burner each evening with a hot chocolate muchies and stuck a movie on.

got what we expected and its a 10 out of 10 from both myself and my partner. :)

Room Tip: if you dont fancy camping and all the hoo hars that go with it try a log cabin for your stay maybe...

After a crazy, manic Christmas, we were glad to escape to the solitude of this peaceful retreat! Myself, my husband and our six year old son Alexander were more than comfortable in Woodpecker cabin in its delightful setting. It's a great location from which to explore endless beauty spots and amazing villages and beaches. It was lovely to come back to the cabin in the evenings and get cosy by the fire! All furnishings and equipment were to a high standard and our little boy particularly loved the reclining leather sofas! We would love to visit again - particularly at this time of year when everywhere is so quiet!

Room Tip: Woodpecker cabin has a long ramp leading to it so it would be very good for wheelchair access or ba...

Just returned from 3 nights in Tawny Owl lodge at Alpine Grove and it was absolutely great. If you are after a picture perfect log cabin then this is the place. Peaceful, secluded and in a gorgeous forest setting. The cabin was well equipped and cosy and the location was perfect. Situated right on the border of Devon, Dorset and Somerset the cabin is a great base from which to explore this lovely part of the world. We hope to return in spring/summer this time with our tent and some slightly drier weather so we can explore further!

I stayed with my family in hedgehog lodge for a long weekend in November. It was great, honestly can't wait to go back. The cabin was stunning, combining modern touches with a real cosey 'home' feel. It was fully equipped with everything we needed, including towels, bedding and complimentary muffins. We enjoying lovely days out in the surrounding area's but mostly enjoying returning to our cabin to sit around the fire and just enjoy family time, and escape from our busy daily lives. I would recomend Alpine Grove to anyone looking for a relaxed break away.

It was a perfect get-away. Welcomed with a home-made cream tea on arrival - what could be more spoiling! Beautiful Log Cabin; felt like we were the only ones in the wood! Very well laid out and spacious and also toddler friendly - our 2 year old loved playing on the trampoline, and my husband loved making fires in the woodburner! Happy family equals happy Mom!! We had a fun cycle ride, but most of all enjoyed cosying up in the evenings playing board games! A wonderful break. Thank you Helen & Richard!
