weve stopped here many times before and no problems, this time totally different,i booked 3 rooms for 3 nights ,whilst awaiting 2 of our pals we went for a pint in the bar/grill ladies behind the bar were brilliant. after about 1 hour the staff changed to 2 young males totally different, we were refused a drink for one of our guest because she didnot have any id,surly and ignorant spring to mind,if i had not paid for the rooms i would of left .the rooms were clean and spacious but the bathroom was 3rd class, shower struggled to work the toilet needed a sumo wrestler to flush it. we had breakfast every morning good and plenty again lady staff brilliant. sun morning we had 1 of the young males who had been ignorant on the thursday totally differant(dont think he realised we were guests on thurs) i wonder if ownership or management has changed since fairday last year.next year we shall have to have a rethink.

There is nothing wrong with this hotel that a little more care and attention would not fix.

It's in a nice location, and the room in which we stayed was very spacious with nice views; it also was well decorated and clean but it is the little things that mark the hotel down, predominately a bathroom clearly in need of some TLC - regrouting, change the broken bath panel, higher wattage lighting, a toilet roll holder, a shelf, washing the walls so that all of the splash marks are removed before the new guests check-in... it's just really the basic housekeeping that needs to be addressed. If they put this right then the star rating will definitely improve.

I cannot fault the staff - they deserve an excellent rating - they were polite, friendly and efficient and always quick with a smile and a cheery greeting. A credit to themselves and the hotel.

We ate in the restaurant on the Saturday evening and again the service was good and the food was nice and piping hot (not easy when there is a large party all ordering different things). It also appeared to be very reasonable for the portion size and quality.

All in all the hotel is a very pleasant destination which we will probably revisit due to its location but housekeeping and basic maintenance needs improvement.

Room Tip: Room#11 has lovely views over the Forth from the side window

On Saturday night we went for a meal to celebrate my husband’s birthday. On entry we were greeted with a smile and a welcome. Although the 2 other staff were passing on their way to and from tables, they too said hello.
The food was fantastic [served on hot plates] one of our party had the battered fish or should I say the battered ‘Whale’ it was enormous. It is so nice to be asked if ‘everything was to our satisfaction’. Well done the Richmond Park Hotel Bar Grill staff.

A 3 star hotel, aspiring to be a bit more, but the service lets it down.

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat on way past.
First impressions are of a good 3 star establishment, pushing for 4 stars.
Seated quickly, initially served quickly.
Meal took longer than expected, which was no major issue.
Once meal was finished our table took about 20 mins to be cleared, staff appeared too busy socialising behind the bar.
Asked for dessert menu, and after waiting 25 mins we gave up, paid our bill at the bar (where staff were congregating) and left.

Overall, the menu was small & basic but adequate, contained family favourites.
Had kids menu
Food was excellent sized portions (not too big, not too small) and was very good.
Managed to eat main meal and had looked forward to dessert until the staff forgot about us.

Would recommend eating there, had it not been for the poor service. Place was not even busy

I attended a Christmas Party night at the Richmond in mid December. It was a "Robbie Williams" tribute night. Myself and the rest of the party enjoyed a magnificent 3 course meal, the service was excellent, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment (even though it was a more "mature" Mr Williams). The venue itself is first class, thank you for a lovely evening, we will certainly be back!!!!

This is a review of the restaurant and not the hotel as we haven't stayed there, however as the restaurant it not listed as such we have had to put our review on here. We made the mistake of booking for dinner in this restaurant recently. It was not a good experience. We had booked but they we not ready for us even though there were only 2 other tables occupied. When we were seated we were not offered a menu and had to ask for one - then we were handed just on between us and this was a A4 laminated sheet. After some huffing from the waiting staff we finally got two full menus. We were going to leave at this point but decided to give them a second chance - our mistake. The food was bland and badly over cooked. We believe that is either bought in frozen and reheated or prepared in advance then microwaved or deep fried. Either way it was not fresh and not good. We didn't finish our meal - no one asked if everything was ok, so we had to draw their attention to the fact that it really wasnt eidible. We left without leaving a tip and feeling very let down.

Hotel was clean with large rooms. Breakfast was nice and the attached dining was convienent. I agree with a previous reviewer that the toilet was really difficult to flush and took up to 6 tries each time it was used. Being used to chain hotels that provide about 3 different locks on the doors, the doors made me a little nervous. The room (located in the annex) had an exterior door with a push-button type lock and a second interior door that did not latch properly.
Overall, however, it was a nice stay for the cost. It was a quiet and convienent place to stay.
