Owner description: Dive into the hearth of the D Day story... Located on Omaha Beach itself, the 1200m² museum showcases a wonderful collection of personal objects, vehicles, uniforms and weapons. Dioramas, archival photographs, maps and thematic signs, as well as a film featuring veteran's testimonies, will guide you through the story of the D-Day landings on Omaha and the Pointe du Hoc.

I thought this museum offered a good perspective of the D Day landings, but felt that some of the exhibits lacked the wow factor that other museums offered,

It was informative and had exhibits that informative. It is worth a trip, but would give it 6.5 out if 10.

Its part of the Normandy Pass scheme, and gas a car park outside. It is a short walk/drive to the beach head at the bottom of the hill.

This is the Stop 15 on Itinerary Two in Major and Mrs. Holt's Definitive Battlefield Guide to D-Day Normandy Landing Beaches. It is not the Musee D-Day Omaha (Stop 10) that is a cluttered, if impressive, hodge-podge collection up the road. This museum carries the title Omaha Musee Memorial on a blue awning outside. Largely a collection of dioramas, the museum is clean, well-ordered, and informative. I confess that I enjoyed the film almost as much for a chance to site down and rest as I did for the content. Unlike the other museums I visited, the woman behind the front counter was very welcoming and gave a warm greeting. As it was later in my itinerary I was starting to get over saturated with memorabilia. This is the only place I recall seeing much of WWII besides the Normandy invasion. There were some cases near the small theater area dealing with the Nazi treatment of Jews.

The museum was outstanding, clearly one of the best of the area D-Day museums, I highly recommend a visit when in Normandy.
