“Cool Place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2013

For us this was laid back atmosphere with very good service, a huge menu and really good soup. We stopped our touring, followed the signs from the highway and drove to the beach to find this restaurant. We weren't disappointed. I had mussels and frites and my wife had fish and chips. We both had the best "Soupe de Legumes" (pureed vegetables in a delicious broth) we had had since Honfleur. The waiter was really pleasant and eager to assist. The Kronebourg was cold. All was good.

“Quiche is mouthwatering!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2013

As part of our American D-Day Tour our tour guide, Trevor Standefer, brought us to La Sapiniere for lunch. All four of us ordered the Quiche at Trevor's recommendation and none of us were disappointed. It melted in your mouth and was a very generous portion. A perfect lunch out on the back deck of the restaurant on a beautiful day in Normandy, France! The waitresses speak English and everyone is extremely friendly! Be sure to try the cider. What a delicious surprise!

“Eh”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2013

This restaurant near the Omaha Beach was recommended by our B&B host, and we found it disappointing. We had eagerly anticipated the 3-course French menus, which we have found elsewhere, and this place is definitely ala carte. I had perfectly serviceable mussels and my husband had perfectly serviceable sardines and frites. But we expected more for the money. It felt more American than French, and the one lone server, tho adorable, was clearly overwhelmed. Skip this, and go instead to Le Omaha, which looks like a horrible place but was better than this.

“Beach chic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2013 via mobile

We'd planned to eat at this restaurant after our visit to the D-day beaches on the recommendation of friends who'd stayed at the hotel and dined here every night of the stay because they loved it so much.

We were not disappointed. After arriving at 6:30 (2 small kids who eat early) we were informed that dinner was served from 7:30 so we took the short walk down to the beach to sit in the twilight for an hour.

An alternative could've been to stay at the restaurant where they have deck chairs outside.

The food was fantastic. I had dover sole which was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great. There's a certain beach atmosphere where you can imagine chillimg out after a day on the beach. The kind of place where you can imagine them playing Manu Chao on the stereo. And they did.

The staff were extremely friendly and the kids loved it too. We had a long drive home so had to leave after dinner, but could easily have stayed and chilled out in some of the comfortable areas until late under different circumstances.

Highly recommended.

“What a great find”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2013

We were travelling through the Saint-Laurent area and looked to TA for a place to have lunch and was not disappointed. The place is low-key and inviting and had a very comfortable feel to it. Our food was excellent. I had a salad which was one of the best I have ever had. Fresh, loads of flavour....I ate every bite.
