“Nice Place”

We have stayed for 5 nights in this lovely hotel during a marathon that some of our group participate, in Mayenne -Laval.
The rooms we had were O.K. I so better rooms which probably cost more
The staff is very nice. Their English is not that good but they did all that is possible to make our stay pleasant and so it was.
All together it is a very nice and recommended place to stay in.
The restaurant in the hotel is good to and worth trying

This is the second time I have stayed at this charming hotel set beside the beautiful river Mayenne. The "chateau" stands above the river and there are lovely rooms looking down onto the water and the countryside beyond. (You can walk for miles along beside the river). The rooms are very spacious and decorated to a high standard in a very contemporary style and well sound insulated. The other part of the hotel containing the elegant restaurant is about 50 metres away. The staff were attentive and very helpful at all times. The dinner in the evening was delicious, the best french cuisine made from local produce. We found a very good wine list and enjoyed a nice glass of Tattinger champagne as an "aperitif".

A perfect setting for a romantic break a business stop or a wedding, I highly recommend La Marjolaine.

Room Tip: Room 33 is in the Chateau. It has a lovely view of the river and an enormous walk in shower/wetroom...

My Wife and I stayed two nights at La Marjolaine on demi-pension.It is a beautiful setting with five buildings around a huge grassed area wth an outside pool.Check-in was conducted in almost total silence by a miserable manager who decided it was not worth bothering to converse with English guests. He pointed to our room in the main building and left us to it.I can speak quite a bit of French but my efforts at communication were ignored. The room itself was fine-modern decoration and everything we needed. The restaurant is a pleasant room but unfortunately on our first night,a sunday, misery guts doubled up as the maitre D.The demi-pension menu was just odd.No starters but you could choose two main couses and dessert.Everything sounded great but the cooking failed to live up to the promise and everything had too much cream, salt and butter.Fortunately,on our second night a far more friendly maitre D was on duty and made us feel far more welcome.Breakfast was completely DIY.
Check out was again conducted in silence by the unfriendly manager.
A nice place spoiled by totally indifferent manager.

The hotel is very nice situated in a park at the riverside of the mayenne river where you can walk and admire the nature. For us it was ideal because we were accompanied by our dog.
Standard room a little bit simple but o.k. for one or two nights.
Dinner and breakfast correspond the category.

Spent a night here on the way back to the Eurotunnel. Very pleasant hotel with large well decorated dining room. Room was spacious with view over the courtyard which was surrounded by chestnut trees. We were demi-pension - which I always book when it's available - and both enjoyed our meals which included an amuse-bouche.
