Stayed here for one night as we walked along the Queen Charlotte Track.
That the place is up for sale pretty well says it all unfortunately. Clearly this is a place with history, in a beautiful setting with some lovely old buildings... but there's no energy in the staff, the great chef let down by unenthusiastic waiting staff and the whole place let down by the tired and frayed edges going downhill fast whilst the place is on the market. Whoever takes the place over will have their work cut out, both to fight off the competition which is stiff and to rescue the place before it dies completely.
We stayed in one of the cabins, which certainly wasn't good value. An old tired cabin, with just a new cover on the bed wasn't what we were expecting. Clearly that's why they show only the outside of the cabins on their smart website.
Would recommend people to look elswhere for now.
