“Nestled in the hills this chalet offers a peaceful retreat after a hard day on the slopes”
Reviewed April 4, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Chalet Enzo is nestled on the side of the mountain in Saint Jean D'ulps. Myself and my partner stayed in the front double bedroom upstairs and its safe to say when I opened my window to look at the view on the first morning I was blown away....it was perfect. Upon arrival the heating was on and the place was ready and waiting for us.

(advice for people arriving at night during the SNOW months - learn how to fit snow chains prior to setting off as the Chalet is at the end of a road with a slight incline, or get a 4X4)

It has everything you need. There were 6 of us altogether and there was plenty of room.

Located 15mins drive from the main resort of Morzine makes this the perfect getaway! In the village of St Jean d'ulps we frequented a couple of friendly bars serving good traditional French cuisine.

I would recommend this to anyone with a keen interest of Skiing at either Morzine or Avoriaz due to how close it is from the resorts (via car) The beauty of Chalet Enzo is after a hard day on the slopes you can unwind by the fire with a glass of wine and feel like you are at home away from the hustle and bustle of a busy ski resort!

I would definitely go back

Dan

“Idyllic and cosy little mountain home from home”
Reviewed February 23, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

If I could say one thing about Chalet Enzo it would be that it is a very lovely cosy home from home. We recently returned from a week's stay during February half term with two young children aged 5 and 2 as well as a family friend and all in all we had an absolutely fantastic stay here. The owners are extremely friendly and approachable and have created a really simple but charming and comfortable place to relax in the mountains.

Overall the chalet manages to feel quite spacious and there was definitely more than enough room for 4 adults and 2 children. There is an open plan lounge / kitchen area on the ground floor which has a great fire (with protective screen) which somehow manages to burn without smoking the place out. The bedrooms are all a decent size and although basic are very comfortable - all the linen / bath towels etc were brand new and everything was spotless. On the upstairs floor where the kids bedroom is (with bunk beds) there is a stair gate to stop little ones straying too far and although at first I was a bit worried about the spiral staircase, in fact our 2 year old had no trouble with it at all and was whizzing up and down it within an hour of arriving quite safely.

The entire Chalet is extremely well kitted out - plenty of kitchen equipment, big range of dvd's, games, books, wifi etc etc and the owners have also catered for small children with a high chair, sippy cups, plastic cups, sledges etc. All in all it feels like they've really put some thought into what their guests would want from a chalet and have provided everything you need. I can honestly say i've not stayed in a better place for this price anywhere in the French Alps.

The Chalet is located in St Jean D'aulps which is about a 15 minute drive from central Morzine and a few minutes from the village itself. It's also a short drive from the main lift station at St Jean D'aulps. Having skied this area many many times over the years I had never actually skied at St Jean D'aulps - but as luck would have it the snow was absolutely fabulous whilst we were there so we spent a couple of days skiing there. Although a small area it is perfect for beginners and actually really excellent for more advanced off-piste skiers too and we were able to use our Porte de Soleil passes on the lifts. Also, it was much quieter here than the rest of the ski area which was suffering from half-term crowds.

The only thing I would say about the chalet is that you do really need to have access to a car to get around - there are buses but to do anything involves a short drive so it's just much more convenient.

One of the best things for us about this chalet was the little garden. As mentioned it had snowed before we arrived and the kids absolutely loved playing outside every day. It also meant that whoever was in charge of the little one didn't have to go out to find entertainment all the time and she could come and go in and out at her own speed.

All in all I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place - in fact in some respects I don't really want to recommend it too much as I hope to book it again next year and don't want them to get too busy : )
