Rathlin island is a wonderful place to visit. Off the beaten track, loads of history and wildlife and beautiful rugged scenery. I was really looking forward to eating at the Manor House after looking at the menu and photos on their website. The food, especially the local seafood (I had rathlin mussels and mackerel and my mum had the fish pie from the lunch menu) was beautiful, so tasty and so fresh, and so wonderful to eat while looking at the view of the harbour. The Manor House itself though is in dire need of a good clean at least. The website makes it look quite smart and charming but really it is more like a backpackers. However, the food is second to none, the people and staff are so friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming and the Guinness is perfect! I'll definitely be back for lunch again, but I wouldn't stay here.
