I often meet friends for lunch here, probably once a fortnight and the food is always great. Delicious soups and great salads. Very clean and comfy and all the staff are friendly and helpful. It is also great value for money and I think local produce is used. The salads are beautifully presented and a great choice of sandwiches, paninis etc. Wonderful choice of scrummy home baking. I recommend it highly for visitors and locals for a lovely lunch.

We held our wedding reception here and it was absolutely stunning. The manager coukd not have been more helpful and flwxible in making sure we had everything we needed to make it all go smoothly. No rush to get our stuff all removed etc the nwxt day. Great place - absolutely beautiful modern building. Great hall with a good stage for functiins. Would definetely recommend for functions. Ace!

As a life-long lover of Beatrix Potter stories, I was thrilled to go to the small museum in the Birnam Arts center. The museum tells the story of Beatrix Potter's time in Birnam and the surrounding area. It has wonderful artefacts from her childhood and the stories she wrote inspired by her friends and acquaintances in Scotland. Perfect museum for children too. Very nice gift shop too with lovely staff

In fact perhaps more of a café than a restaurant, but nonetheless a very good place to eat if in the area. Fresh food, good coffee, pleasant staff.

But what we really like about this place is the Beatrix Potter Exhibition, which should qualify as an Attraction in its own right. We've taken both our sets of grandkids there, and they loved it! Plenty of opportunity for creative play in a Victorian setting, with strong echos of the books and Beatrix's own life (she visited Scotland regularly with her family, staying in a grand house in Dunkeld next to the River Tay).

Kids can play at dressing up, washing clothes (without water!), hanging them out, playing shop, playing schools etc - with not an electronic item in sight! And plenty of pictures and information for adults to browse while the kids play.

It's quite small, but we have never found it too busy and there's loads of play value.

There's a small garden (hunt the cast animals!) and an excellent shop selling slightly different, quality gifts for adults and children.
