“High standard of accomodation, welcoming and relaxing”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

We have visited 7 or 8 times and keep going back, The standard of accommodation is exceptional, Nice friendly bar and restaurant. Stunning setting on the banks of the river Tay and Dunkeld is a short walk away. Just about to book another weekend.

Stayed in Spruce 2bed Spa lodge for a week and had the most relaxing time ever. The lodge itself is hi spec and has everything u could think of for your stay. The staff and owners of the estate were so nice and helpfull whatever our needs were.

We enjoyed our break so much so that we have just booked a two week stay for jan 2013 so we can relax longer.

If there were any negative points the only thing we could say was there was no wifi to the lodge and we couldn't get 3G.

Thanks to the Owner and all their team for a fantastic break!!

Look fwd to being back in 2013

My friends and I had a wonderful stay in The Wallace apartment in July. It sleeps nine and is so spacious you can have your individual space. The kitchen is fully equiped and large enough to seat nine comfortably. There are two bathrooms with electric showers more than adequate.
The bedrooms are all individually styled really tastefully and very comfortable beds. The lounge is also very tastefully decorated with comfortable leather chesterfields tv stereo dvd etc. There was seven ladies of all ages celebrating some of our special birthdays. We ate twice in the Library resturant, the food was excellent as were Charles and his team. Thanks to Charles for my
birthdaycake. We used the swimming pool and jaccuzzi both were great for relaxing in.
The entertainment that week-end was also for good in the conservatory. All in all we had a wonderful 3 night break on this great holiday park. And look forward to returning in the near future. The Golden Girls from Falkirk.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front of Erigmore house are quieter

Just returned from a three night midweek stay in a 1 bedroom Holly Lodge as this accomodation was suitable for a dog. Lodge was good with all electrical equipment you would need. Swimming pool excellent albeit sauna door loose fitting and therefore does not sustain the heat.

What was disappointing was the fact there was no food available for 2 out of the 3 nights and we were not made aware of this prior to our arrival. The zebra bar also has no atmosphere and resembles a library with no entertainment other than CD music.

I am not one who likes to lock myself away in the lodge for 3 nights (as I could do that at home). It would have been nice to have a few beers, a meal and watch the football on the tv (even if Erigmore can't afford Sky ???). I therefore had to decant to the village and find a pub to do so.

On checking out I mentioned this and the fact that our dog was not allowed to stay unoccupied in the lodge but there was no place to take him in the evening ? The receptionist then told me the conservatory could have been opened which has a tv and is dog friendly ? Pity the bar staff did not say this (or indeed advertise this in their paperwork) ??.

In summary having visited other similar sites (including Piperdam which ticked all the boxes) I feel Erigmore need to work on providing some kind of entertainment in the evening accepting it was quiet and in the winter season.

PS If walking along the very fast flowing river tay towards Dunkeld be very careful with a dog (and children). Keep the dog on the lead unlike mine who loves the water, jumped in and I had to scramble down the bank to effect a rescue. I heard locally other dog owners have not been so lucky.

We have just returned from a three night stay at the Erigmore estate, we booked a two bedroom contemporary lodge just for the two of us as we wanted the extra space, we checked in easily and we had a little wander of the estate to get our bearings, when we entered our lodge we were very happy! It was so spacious and beautiful inside with a lovely deck and great view from the large patio doors! We had a large open plan lounge/dinning area and kitchen with everything you could need! Master bedroom had a lovely en suite and there was a spare twin bedroom and guest bathroom, the whole lodge was lovely in design and furnishings,

There was a pool, sauna, spa pool, these we found always quiet and we had it too ourself on one of the days which was lovely! The only negative was the limited opening hours of the pool it would have been really nice if it was open later into the evening so if you come back late from a big walk you could relax in the pool etc! We did try to book one of the spa lodges but they get booked up quick!

There is also a bar and restaurant, we had a drink in the bar one night it was very quiet but was nice inside and also good value if you want to go out for dinner there is a nice selection of restaurants in the town it's not far to walk and if you want a taxi then it's only £5

We can not wait to go back to Erigmore!

Room Tip: Contemporary lodges are the way to go and if you can book a spa lodge then grab it when you can!

Having never gone on a holiday like this before we didn't turn up with any preconceptions of the lodge. It was a family holiday, booked by Scottish based Grandparents to spend some quality time with their new grandson (our baby boy). We arrived (with our car FULL of baby related necessities of course) and were pretty wowed by our first impressions of the lodge. Our 'Contemporary Lodge' (named Silver Birch) was set on the edge of the park development. As we entered we were greeted by our extremely pleasantly decorated and furnished accommodation. Solid oak furniture, a big wall mounted TV above a modern fireplace (quite swish), squishy sofas (which we're really missing now we're back home as they were the sort with lots of scatter cushions which were perfect for propping up our young baby!!), a fully equipped kitchen with washing machine, microwave, basic cookware, crockery and cutlery, and plenty of storage space. There was a DVD player and two bedrooms with built in storage and two bathrooms (one ensuite shower room and one with a bath with shower over). The shower in the ensuite was very good and powerful. The hot water was on demand and never ran out. We simply pushed our two single beds together to create lots of space in which to place the travel cot (I think you can book cots for the lodges but at the moment we still like taking our own travel cot as our baby is used to it and likes it). I was happy that the roman blind in our room was heavy enough to block the daylight out so our baby could take his naps during the day with no trouble. Our lodge had a large decking veranda that was south facing too with bistro table and four chairs set out that we definitely took advantage of since oddly there was a mini heatwave for the four days we were there. There was a slight niggle to our stay in that our lodge was rather on the hot side; I was convinced that we'd get to the end of our stay and realise that some secret underfloor heating or something had been on the whole time. We turned the boiler off completely, turned the thermostat down to 'off', opened windows etc but it was still very hot. I haven't deducted anything from the overall rating as there was the afore mentioned heatwave and maybe the lodges are extremely well insulated, and like I said before too - it could well be the case that we were too thick to work out the heating!! Anyway, opening the windows was sufficient to get by. The park resort is simply a reaonable amount of nicely set out land with lodges in situ. And a grand looking house whereby the bar, restaurant and a token family area conservatory are situated. We ate in the restaurant one night, and the haggis pakoras were so nice (we are English - no idea how they compare to regular haggis found in Scotland, but we raved about them). Anyone looking for a Butlins style holiday with lots of family fun entertainment set up should go elsewhere - this is a very peaceful base in which to explore the surrounding delights of Perthshire. Dunkeld is a very pleasant village less than half an hour's stroll from Erigmore. You can go either by road or via a lovely woodland walk (where you can spot one of the oldest trees in the country). We visited Dunkeld, Pitlochry, Queen's View, Aberfeldy (where Scotland's oldest inn is I think) House of Bruar (a freeport - but with nice shops) and the Crannog at Loch Tay. It was a lovely little holiday, the lodge was PERFECT, especially for a family and this part of the country is very beautiful indeed. I would really love to go again!

Room Tip: If you liked the sound of the lodge we stayed in, it was a 'contemporary lodge' and its name...
