“Lovely accomodation”

A high standard bed and breakfast in a period town house in the picturesque village of Arnac. Arnac is a rural village with few amenities but it is perfectly situated for the medieval towns of Saint Antonin and Cordes-Sur-Ciel (both between a 10-20 min drive).

The website http://www.maison-lavande.com/ is a very fair representation of what to expect.

We stayed for two nights with our 6 month old and received a warm welcome from Bob and Lorraine who very much looked after us during our stay.

We certainly recommend a stay and we look forward to a return visit!

My family and I have just spent 2 weeks in the company of Bob and Lorraine Walker at their Chambre d'Hote in the Aveyron Gorge close to the lovely town of St Antonin Noble Val.

Travelling to stay in a new place for the all important big Summer Holiday is always nerve-wracking for many reasons but our hosts Bob and Lorraine were great - unflappable, welcoming and charming and helped us out of a potentially disatrous hole towards the end of our holiday for which we will always be grateful. Having two young sons 9 & 6 years with all of their particular peculiarities with food, sleeping boistrousness and just about every thing else can be stressful but not on this trip everything was taken easily in their stride.

As well as bed and breakfast - the beds and bedrooms were great - Lorraine offers dinner 2 or 4 courses this includes their company and wine/beer or any other beverages that one could choose.

The location is great and a beautiful space to unwind and also enjoy local activities walking, cycling, canoeing, pot-holing etc if you wish. Together with food and wine - it is France after all and also interesting towns and villages.

A highly enjoyable holiday in great place and highly recommended as a place to stay.

We spent four days being pampered, fed and generally spoilt! A lovely relaxing and quiet part of France, with lots to see and do closeby should you wish. Our favourite was the nearby medieval town of St Antonin Noble Val, and Cordes which was a little further away. A truly beautiful part of France with Maison Lavande providing all the amenities one could possibly desire! We would thoroughly recommend a stay here!

You cannot fail to love your hosts Bob and Lorraine who make you welcome as soon as you walk in the door. Their home has been lovingly restored in the French tradition and the bedrooms are sooooo comfortable! Four poster beds, matresses you sink into, luxurious cotton sheets, tea and coffee making facilities, biscuits, sweets, fruit, hairdryer and lovely toiletries with gorgeous thick white towels. What more could you ask for?
Breakfast is a feast in itself with croissants collected by Bob that morning from the local boulangerie, lovely french bread for your toast and then a full english if you want it.
After spending the day exploring the area you get to sample Lorraine's wonderful evening meals with wine flowing as well. Forget the diet!
If you would rather just spend the morning out and about you have the choice of relaxing in their garden, complete with pool in the afternoon.
There are lots of lovely places to visit, St. Antonin being one (where the film Charlotte Grey was filmed) and on Sundays they have a market where you can sit in the market square outside the cafe and watch the world go by.
If you are more energetic you can even go canoeing on the river.
I cannot recommend this place enough, and we are already booked to go again in September.

Like others who have stayed at Lorraine and Bob Walker's lovely home near St Antonin-Noble-Val, we have twice been welcomed here as old friends. 'Old' we may be (to some eyes!) so we have learned to appreciate our creature comforts and they are there in abundance at Maison Lavande.

On arrival we were quickly ushered into a stunning sitting room, Bob lit the fire (it was March) and asked if we would like a drink. After a well needed rest following our journey and two G & T's later we decided to put on some different clothes for dinner - not necessary here, but we had driven all the way from St Malo. The bedrooms are at the top of the house and both lovely. There are really comfortable beds, beautiful linens, flowers, bowls of fruit, botles of mineral water, ornaments and pictures and a range of classy toileteries - a lot more than we have found in some expensive 5 star hotels we have stayed in.

Lorraine's cooking is excellent and when we have stayed, the wine flowed generously.

All in all, Maison Lavande is a lovely, homely place in which to stay and the owners a lovely warm couple. We cannot recommend it and them too highly. And don't worry too much about the toilet being on the next floor, it's only one flight and the journey is well worth it. Even here was equipped with everything needed to pamper yourself.

One day, we'll be back - if they'll have us - for our third visit to these good friends.

Believe me, if you need a break, this is the place to escape to!
We visited last April for a weeks break, I was recuperating after a back injury; to say I came back relaxed was an understatement!
On arrival, Lorraine & Bob greeted us like long-lost friends, they were so helpful & informative, with great recommendations for eating out & trips out to the nearby villages. They even gave us a lift to the nearby local market!
Maison Lavende is stunning, our room had the best bed ever, and the views from our window were breath-takingly beautiful, it was idyllic! Our every need was catered for, and unlike chain hotels, it's the finishing touches such as luxirious toilettries, fabulous home cooking & the best sweets I've ever tasted (refilled daily in our room) that make this place an absolute hidden gem!!!
It's a peaceful location for all ages, I cannot recommend this place enough!!!! Thanks again Lorraine & Bob!

I can safely say the bed in the pink & green room was the most comfortable I have ever slept on in any holiday accommodation. Nothing spoils a holiday more than a crappy bed, but this was bliss.
The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. Lorraine had thoughtfully provided little extras, like posh biscuits with the tea & coffee making facilities, a lovely bowl of fruit, which she wrapped and gave us for our journey home as we were leaving very early on our last morning and as well as shampoo etc she put out a fresh packet of make-up removing wet wipes, a nice touch.
If there is to be a negative aspect it would be that although there is a power shower and wash basin in the room, the toilet is on the next floor down. We were given a key to it as it was exclusively for our use and it was of course spotless and beautifully presented with all the lovely soaps and hand creams that makes Maison Lavande just that little bit special.

Lorraine & Bob are people that like people, they are warm, welcoming, very relaxed and open to sharing their lovely home with guests.

Lorraine knows a thing or two about rustling up a a meal, we had a fabulous dinner with her on our first evening and she didn't bat an eyelid over my fussy diet requirements, I'm guessing if I had asked for swan she would have enquired, " Rare or well done?"

We were greeted in the morning with a hearty breakfast, served in Lorraine & Bobs cosy kitchen. We started with toast & croissants followed by a full English. All beautifully presented and cooked to perfection.

We had a really nice stay there and you will too!
