Awesome place to relax and recreate. Location has comfortable rooms and delicious, healthy food at reasonable prices all in a beautiful garden setting. On site trails can be explored alone or with a guide that can be scheduled at the front desk. The property has a diverse population of flora and fauna to enjoy. They’re are happy to share the aims and philosophies behind their sustainable/regenerative agricultural methods. A farm tour is available as well. Highly recommended.

It takes a lot in motivating us to choose formal lodging for a group of seven over an airbnb anymore. It takes even more for me to look through the now all too common commercialization and marketing hype of ecology and environmentalism in Costa Rica. Finca Luna Nueva Lodge got my soft spot for local farming and permaculture done right and do they practice what they preach. Pool/dining/lounge amenities wrapped into one sealed the deal. Except for lunch, we dined there exclusively for the two days we stayed. It fits the bill of rustic farm cuisine at a reasonable price for a resort, very good, all local. The deep yellow butter from the cows grazed on the property. The trails are extensive and should appeal to most that are capable enough to consider them. The two detractions being the beds were much too firm for my taste and the difficulty in moving around the property during severe downpours. A big up in creating a destination that attracts like minded individuals creating instant community. I’ll have to go back as we couldn’t stay longer for this trip.

Finca Luna Nueva Lodge is the perfect place to rest and recharge while being immersed in nature. You're in the heart of the rainforest, surrounded by beautiful plants and animals (the birdwatching is amazing), eating the freshest food (much of which is grown on the farm, all of which is lovingly made), dipping in the ozonated pool and/or hot tub (no chlorine, my skin was so happy!), getting a spa treatment or doing some yoga, meandering on your own through the forest or being guided by some of their super knowledgable staff... there is so much to, and also... so much time and space to do nothing. Finca Luna Nueva is great for solo travelers and groups alike. I've been coming here for years and will continue to return for many, many more to come.

This was my first trip to Costa Rica and I was looking for someplace a little off the grid to relax. I picked the perfect spot. Upon landing in San Jose, the lodge arranged for a driver to pick us up drive the 2.5-3 hours to Finca Luna Nueva, the New Moon Farm. We rented a beautiful little hut with a deck off the back (#10). The deck has a hammock and two rocking chairs. It had hardwood floors, a king size bed, a little desk, ceiling fan, air conditioning, a couch, and a shower/toilet. I stayed for a week and never left the farm in that time. There are all sorts of hikes and tours to do right at the lodge. There is a libray, salsa dancing, cocoa making, birding, etc. The staff are fantastic-- from Egenia and Carlos at the front desk to Ariel and Byron in the restaurant, Julia in housekeeping, the amazing kitchen! All the food is home made and 80-90% is from the biodynamic farm and their neighbors. Breakfast is included and each day was juice, coffe, homemade kefir and granola, all sorts of fresh fruits, eggs, plaintains and many other treats. Lunch and dinner were fantastic too with changing specials. Cocktails and wine available too. The pool and hot tub are lovely. The yoga platform is soooo beautiful. The front desk provided birding books and we saw many lovely insects, birds, small critters and animals. That said, we saw NO mosquitos in a week. How is that even possible? We loved the rains in the afternoon and evening. We will return!

Wow, what an amazing review!

Thank you so much for enjoying our farm so much, you had an authentic experience of what it is to live in the rainforest. It makes us really happy to hear of such an amazing immersion. Thank you for taking part in our on-site tours and trails. Isn't it crazy we barely ever see mosquitoes around here? We are very lucky. We hope you visit us again in the near future. Pura Vida!

We loved our stay at Finca Luna, immersed in nature. The staff is so welcoming and friendly, and the food is incredibly fresh and always delicious. We enjoyed the night walk as well as the tour of the farm - both were fascinating. Gained a new appreciation for biodynamic farming. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Can't recommend Finca Luna enough!
