Bungalow was comfortable, but the restaurant's food is not at the level of the lodge. And ruins a bit the experience since you are quite isolated. (Breakfast and dinner).
Service was great.
The farm tour given by Steven is a quite a highlight, sharing a passion for sustainable farming. We are able to discover many types of trees, flowers, trees and their benefits, and even taste them. Really enjoyed it.

The free farm tour was one of the best tours that I took in Costa Rica, learning about the plants, animals and sustainability practices on the farm.

It was a $75 round trip taxi ride to tabacon Hot Springs and a $26 one Way taxi ride to La Fortuna bus station.

We stayed 3 nights at FLN and enjoyed every moment of it. It is a beautifully maintained property, with great amenities and offerings. But, what truly makes this stay above and beyond is the fun we had with the employees on the farm. Everyone was so warm, attentive, and welcoming. We took the Farm and the Sacred Seed tour with Alberto, who is a walking encyclopedia and passionate about sharing his knowledge about the plants and animals on the farm. Carlos is a true chocolate master who showed us how to make chocolate from a cocoa bean. He walked us through the process of chocolate making and we had the opportunity to taste the bean from the moment we opened a cocoa pod until the moment this magical bean was transform into a most delicious chocolate. Ernesto and Danny helped with the logistics and anything we needed while we were on the farm.
We also spent a lot of time relaxing and dining at the restaurant. The food was tasty and fresh – best we had on our journey through the country. There were many options for anyone. My favorite was the pasta with a freshly made pesto, and my husband loved a Thai soup of which we now forget the name. Steven and Ariel were in charge of the restaurant; both were very attentive and friendly.
We were fortunate to see many animals while there. Just after 5 am, the birds start their morning activities and the rainforest is filled with the most unusual birds’ songs and melodies - a perfect place for a bird lover, or just anyone who appreciates nature.
Before arriving to FLN, we planned to take an off-site tour and visit a town nearby, but after our first day on the farm, we decided to cancel our plans and discover more about this beautiful and interesting place. In the end, we learned and experienced many new things, more than we could even imagine, by being in this amazing environment with a like-minded people. Pura vida!

Our stay at Finca Luna Nueva was an amazing adventure in learning about organic farming, and also a relaxing stay in the cloud forest near the Arenal Volcano, about 30 minutes from La Fortuna. Remote and beautiful, we saw beautiful Costa Rican birds, several sloths, and the beautiful organic farm. We also made chocolate completely from scratch, Carlos showing us how to grind the roasted cacao beans the old fashioned way. The farm tour is a must as well. It was a relaxing stay, and the staff all treated us with great care. The meals at the restaurant were wonderfully prepared, too! And the pool/hot tub area refreshes at day's end. All in all, my wife and I highly recommend a stay at Finca Luna Nueva.
