It is a year since we last visited St Yves. We catch the 9.50am bus from Menton. Be aware this bus can get very busy indeed since it is very small and quite a lot of people want to get to st Agnes. The 9.50 is the only bus in the morning to get you to St Agnes in time for lunch. Stand by the door to get on and do not sit on the bench. Have your euro per person ready, and if you are travelling with someone you pay while they get a seat on board for you.the same applies for your return journey at 2.35- be at the stop in good time!
When we arrive we hav e a coffee in the St Yves and reserve our table for mid day. It can get very busy indeed. the restaurant has fabulous v ews We always have lapin aux herbes - delicious but this time we visited the restaurant twice in our stay for the 19 euro menu which is such good value and far far better than anything you will get in Menton and on the 2nd visit we had the daube du sanglier - a very generous helping in a delicious sauce.- this will give us a dificult decision to make next time. Sanglier is wild boar which is very common in the area and creates a lot of damage to the environment.
