“It is the best value in the area”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2011

It is a year since we last visited St Yves. We catch the 9.50am bus from Menton. Be aware this bus can get very busy indeed since it is very small and quite a lot of people want to get to st Agnes. The 9.50 is the only bus in the morning to get you to St Agnes in time for lunch. Stand by the door to get on and do not sit on the bench. Have your euro per person ready, and if you are travelling with someone you pay while they get a seat on board for you.the same applies for your return journey at 2.35- be at the stop in good time!
When we arrive we hav e a coffee in the St Yves and reserve our table for mid day. It can get very busy indeed. the restaurant has fabulous v ews We always have lapin aux herbes - delicious but this time we visited the restaurant twice in our stay for the 19 euro menu which is such good value and far far better than anything you will get in Menton and on the 2nd visit we had the daube du sanglier - a very generous helping in a delicious sauce.- this will give us a dificult decision to make next time. Sanglier is wild boar which is very common in the area and creates a lot of damage to the environment.

“Food in the mountains”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2010

We have been going to the restaurant Le Saint Yves in St Agnes every time we have been staying in Menton over the last eight years. We love the whole experience. There is always a very friendly welcome from the owner and the staff. Their lapin aux herbes is to die for and we talk about it when reminising about our french holidays. the views from the terrace are good and in the cold winter months a glowing very welcome fire

“Get here early for a table with a sweeping view”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2009

We had a late lunch at Le Saint Yves in October 2009. It is a large restaurant but had only one waiter on duty at the time, As there were quite a few patrons, service was very slow. They have un menu and une carte, with lots to choose from, but we just ordered a pizza for one, and a cheese crepe, which comes unrolled, and drinks. Food was very good -- not a surprise in this part of the world, even in a fairly remote village like Sainte Agnes. The tables on the deck by the window have panoramic views so get there first :-) ... you can see a photo here: http://menton-daily-photo.blogspot.com/2007/09/le-saint-yves.html .
Le Saint-Yves and the nearby Le Logis Sarrasin share a website which states that
Moyens de paiement acceptés include Carte visa et mastercard; however we had to pay cash that day. The restaurant is not a long walk from the car park.
Saint-Agnes merits a trip, and once you're there, so does Le Saint Yves, even if for no more than the Lemon tart with meringue, one of their specialties.
