My husband & I just returned from a week stay at ABV. We're not the type of people who enjoy the resort or all-inclusive type experience and chose ABV for this reason. The location was perfect for us, away from the hustle & bustle of the high-rise hotels. My husband is also an avid windsurfer and our room rate for the week included gear rental which was a bonus. More about the gear- gaastra sails most new, some 2011, the boards were fanatics, a few years old. Many of the foot straps needed replacing but Phil (owner) was happy to change them upon request. Phil was also very helpful in judging the wind each day & making gear recommendations based on the wind conditions.
Onto the rooms- we're pretty laid back travelers and have stayed in both high end hotels & budget hotels around the world. We found the rooms to be clean but slightly rundown and in need of maintenance. We stayed in a beach front 'villa' and paid a premium per night which was for the view that we enjoyed from our patio not for the room itself. The kitchenette was very functional, we used it every day to make breakfast & lunch. The cleaning staff came each day & were very pleasant. We had plenty of hot water for showering unlike some of the other comments.
Overall I would recommend staying at ABV if you are interested in a peaceful location away from the hoards of annoying tourists down the beach and if you're an avid windsurfer. We can see ourselves going back next year since we had a great week of sun, food and wind.

We just returned from a 3+ week stay at Aruba Beach Villas, and the smiles will stay longer than the tan! This was not our first stay here, but with the perfect windsurfing right outside your door, the uncrowded beach and sport amenities, I cannot imagine finding a better place anywhere on the island. We will continue as return guests as it is starting to feel like home to us, Phil (owner) is a wonderful source of information from where to find the best bakery to windsurfing tips that will bring you home a better sailor than when you arrived there. His staff is top-notch, Marjan is Phil's support staff and has never been too busy to help out a guest..she also has that permanent "Aruba" smile for her Villa "family" members. If you are looking for gambling or night entertainment it is a short walk down and a quick taxi ride home. This is a place where you will truly come back "relaxed" from!

We enjoyed our stay at the Aruba Beach Villas in a non-ocean facing room. It was located in a quiet area away from the high rise area which suited us. The bus stop was located. directly out in front and made it easy to get around the island.
The maid service was excellent. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. However, the venetian blinds were dirty and they also let in a lot of light -they were in need of an update.
We enjoyed using the free snorkeling equipment as well.
The service was good but not as accomodating as we would have liked. The main office was only open from 9-5pm.
Overall, we would recommend this location if you want to be away from the high rise tourist areas.

We discovered this place reading reviews on Trip Advisor and found it to be very much to our liking. We wanted to stay close to the best snorkeling beaches and avoid the crowds of people and pricey rooms at the high-rise hotels. We also wanted kitchen facilities so we could make our own breakfast and lunch. Aruba Beach Villas had everything we needed to make a delightful spring getaway so memorable. We rented a "deluxe ocean studio villa" with a view of the beach and never regretted spending the extra bucks to have those incredible sunsets every night while enjoying happy hour on the deck. The room was large with a decent-size well-equipped kitchen and a nice little dining area. The furnishings were a bit on the Spartan side and some of the drawers were hard to open and close, but that didn't cause us any discomfort. We spent a good part of every day snorkeling at nearby beaches, and this is where the real beauty of Aruba can be found. Arashi and Boca Catalina beaches are within a mile of the place and there was plenty of parking to be had. We usually hit the beach after breakfast, returned for lunch on the deck, then headed back to the beach for an afternoon of snorkeling. In the evening, we drove about a mile in the opposite direction to the nearest hotels/shopping area to choose from among a dozen restaurants to dine at. Some of the guests at the villas were into wind surfing, and this part of Malmok beach seems to have all the right stuff for those who enjoy the sport. The villas are located along a road that is busy with all kinds of traffic during certain hours of the day, but they lie far enough off the road that traffic noise is not an issue. After dark, the traffic is light or nonexistent and we slept peacefully in our room. The bathroom was fairly large with a big shower and one sink. The only complaint we had was the hot water was really only tepid. I inquired at the desk to see if some repairs were needed to render water at a more comfortable temperature, however I got only a shrug and a vague promise to "look into the matter" from the manager. There was no further communication on the subject and the water temperature didn't increase by a degree. Instead of raising a fuss, we just got used to taking brief (cold) showers. There is a fresh water pool at the villas, but we never used it. Beach towels were provided, but the adjacent beach is not really suitable for bathing on account of the coral shelf. No beach chairs were provided, so if you're looking for a place where you can walk out of your room onto the beach and plop into a beach chair, better check some other place to stay. But if you are into snorkeling like us, then you will find Aruba Beach Villas a most economical base of operations that is located very close to the best snorkeling beaches on the island.

Room Tip: The ocean view rooms are well worth the extra charge - the sunsets are incredible.
