Stayed for one night and nothing was too much trouble. Had a lovely tea and cakes when we arrived and then a fab breakfast. Rooms are very well appointed, and even have M and S toiletries. Lovely couple, nothing was too much trouble.

We work in the trade and have a wide experience of guesthouses and hotels. We have visited Wheelers Cottage twice and can confidently rate it as outstanding;well worth its 4* Silver rating and its Tourist Board 'Breakfast Award'.
The service is very attentive, but also extremely friendly. The rooms are spotlessly clean and well appointed. The cooking is excellent, from the fresh tea and home baked scone on arrival to the varied and excellently cooked breakfast, which includes smoothies, pancakes, home-baked muffins and full English breakfast. We also had 2 evening meals which were of a good 'restaurant quality'. Sarah also provides excellent packed lunches on request.
Rooms and meals are excellent value for money.
The location is extremely good - convenient for Salisbury, the New Forest and the coast.

From the moment we drove through the gate into the gravel drive, we were made to feel right at home at Wheelers. Roy met us and carried our bags in, showing us around and through to the guest dining room where a fresh pot of tea and the most delicious cake stand awaited us, full of delicious treats. We were in the area to go to a friend's birthday party 6 miles up the road, and with taxis being hard to find in this part of the world, we decided to drive there and were really touched when Roy offered to pick us up later in the evening if we wanted to have a few beers.

After a perfect night's sleep and a really great shower, we joined the other guests for breakfast and I was really impressed with the very tempting breakfast menu with everything you could ever wish for on offer. I saw beautiful fresh pancakes being served at the other end of the table, but chose fresh fruit smoothie and a full english breakfast for myself - all of which was delicious. Sarah is a fantastic cook.

Wheelers cottage has been recently restored and refurbished so everything is completely spotless, fresh and beautiful. My boyfriend spotted solar panels on the roof as well as other green house keeping commitments that make this place an environmentally friendly place too.

Finally, as we had left our car at our friend's house, Roy was kind enough to drive us to go and get it - the perfect host.

Thank you Sarah and Roy for a lovely stay.

We were visiting for a friends wedding a couple of miles away. Found Wheelers Cottage online and was impressed by the reviews and the price. We stayed in the double bedroom in the cottage. We really enjoyed our stay - the owners were very friendly and accomodating. Breakfast was very good and sourced locally (some from their garden). Very relaxed atmosphere and once you have checked in with them and have your keys you can come and go as you please. I would highly recommend.

Could not fault this place. The hosts are friendly, welcoming and helpful. The rooms were clean, modern, but still maintained that cottage feeling. The food was first class. And the location is perfect for exploring the New Forest. We will definitely be going back again!

This is a review of the Self Catering cottage that is also available at Wheelers Cottage.

The Stables is a large self catering cottage that Sleeps 6 people with two double rooms and one twin room. The property is very clean and fitted to a very high standard. The owners Roy and Sarah couldn't have been more helpful. We will be visiting again in August. A great place to stay to explore the New Forest and the great beaches of Bournemouth are only 30 minutes away. Roll on August my girls can't wait to help feed the chickens.
