We really enjoyed the guesthouse and the area. We arrived by taxi from Chepstowe station (about ten pound). There was a small local bus but we couldnt figure out where it left from in Chepstowe and we had luggage. You don't need a car to get here. We went on a couple of absolutely beautiful walks recommended by the hostess. The breakfasts are delicious. We walked all around town. There's a good bookshop and they will post your purchases home. Watch out for Daleks in the trees around the old station, must be a local thing? Amusing. The mattresses are great. Only one small problem for me was that someone smoked in an adjoining room and due to doors not being sealed, the smoke smell came into my bedroom at night. Not the owner's fault as the property is non smoking.

Anneke and Ian have done themselves proud with their B and B - the Bed was so comfortable and luxurious and the Breakfast was simply fantastic! They were lovely, interesting hosts, and we were impressed by the beautiful bed with its posh linens, which they re-made for us each day. We stayed in the garden suite for 5 days, which was handy for us with our muddy boots and muddy toddler as it has a tiled entrance where we could leave wet walking gear. We've never stayed anywhere with such a sensational and varied breakfast menu and the location is so beautiful. We would definitely stay again if visiting the area.

WHAT A WONDERFUL, PEACEFUL PLACE!!! My biggest thanks to Annika and Ian, the landlords of Tintern Old Rectory, for such a relaxing and welcoming stay in Wales. The most charming B&B I have ever been to with the most generous and kind hosts is a place I will be happy and looking forward to returning to and can whole-heartedly recommend to friends and travellers. On arrival Ian welcomed us with the biggest smile and the best knowledge and advice of how to spend our weekend and showed us to our 5* rooms with comfortable beds, warm duvets, sparkling white bed linen, lavender scented bathrooms, and all the facilities of a luxury hotel - dressing gowns, hairdryers, top quality coffee/tea and TV channelsl! The breakfast was amazing for choice, quality, quantity and personal service! Local, organic, home-made produce cooked for each guest individually as ordered and to perfection! The warmth and generosity-of-spirit of Annika and Ian, the hosts at Tintern Old Rectory, in every aspect of our stay was of the highest calibre! Thank you and we look forward to seeing you again!!

Room Tip: The suite is perfect for families with two connecting bedrooms, one with two singles and the second...

Although we had never been in Wales, it is the land of my ancestors, so a long awaited trip. Anika and Ian made our visit so special in every way they could. From the online advice before coming about renting a car at "Wye Knot Rental" in Chepstow, travel tips, to the gracious welcome, beautiful cozy room, lovely pastoral river view, oh-so-comfy bed and advice on local activities. And anyone who stays here will comment on the glorious breakfasts! Loved all the choices and delicious favors. The Glamorgan sausage was new to us and we loved it! A-1 hosts and lovely B&B. we would love to come back!

Room Tip: We loved our river-view room.

We arrived and were promptly greeted by the wonderful Innkeepers. We were shown to our room and we were pleasantly surprised with how spacious and lovely it was. For our son to have a room of his own while still being in our suite made for a much more relaxing evening for my husband and I. No whispering so that our son could sleep before we were ready for bed.

The breakfast menu was delightful and the quality and taste of the food simply divine! The home made jams were so creative and fun to try. The vegetarian cake was my favorite meal of our entire trip!

We will be back to visit as soon as our travels take us to Wales again! Thank you.

This was a great place to stay. The rooms are all different with great linen. Relaxing after a great day's walking one is welcome but a great host in Ian and hostess in Anika. However, the veritable array of foods and drinks at breakfast was so diverse, tempting and home made that it was a shame we were there for only one day. I had, our of the four of us staying, the presence of mind to request a homemade bread rhubarb jam/marmalade sandwich which we enjoyed en route to Symonds Yat. Is staying in Tintern, this welcome should not be missed! A must.

After cycling from Bristol to Tintern via Beachley, the king size comfy bed in our river view room was more than a sight for sore eyes. In the morning a huge and delicious breakfast with extensive choice and the option to try a bit of everything set us up for the rest of the day.

Lovely couple and was very impressed during our visit.
