“awesome place to stay”
Reviewed December 19, 2013

i stayed here for 10 days..
A very lovely and relaxing resort.. Perfect for a peaceful holiday.
The room was lovely and clean and the pool was also nice and very relaxing.
They also helped me organize my trips.. Ive been to tiger kingdom,
To hotspring, cave ,temples..and around the village through which you can really feel the nature and the real beauty of thailand.
The unconditional service makes my stay more comfortable..
Highly recommended!!!

This beautiful place is certainly paradise.
If you are looking for total relaxation and peace and quiet, then you have come to the right spot.
Paulo (& john) are good hosts and are happy to take you places. Check out the Muang On Cave then walk up the track to the top of the mountain, be prepared for a long hike and take some water (& torch for the cave), keep an eye out for wild monkeys (wish we were told that before we went up so we could keep an eye out but never spotted any)
Don't feel like you are confined there you can hire scooters or push bikes.
We would recommend hiring a scooter and checking out the most scenic and beautiful countryside and small villages (small tip try learning some Thai beforehand, only a few locals spoke English but very friendly and I love how they smile at you and wave!)

The deluxe cottages are great, clean, nice décor and love the outdoor shower. The open air restaurant is a nice place to have a wine and watch the sun go down, meals also very nice.

My husband and I spent most of our time around the pool which is very inviting and love the fact that you don't have to wear anything if you choose not to.
We look forward to coming back next year and will definitely be staying longer.

We found this place through a deal website. Although it is a naturist friendly resort, it shouldn't stop non-naturists to stay here too (we are also not naturists). The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. And perhaps the best feature is the view of paddy field in front of the resort from your room's window. As a place surrounded by nature, you must get ready for some nature inhabitants (read: insects and small creatures) too. But nothing major; it was easily manageable by applying insect repellant during night time. We didn't try the activities there such as mountain biking around the resort, etc. but we bet it would be fun.

Perhaps the only drawback was the location of the resort which is quite far from the city (around 30 - 40 minutes drive) and quite difficult to find. But then again you won't be able to find this kind of surrounding if convenience of staying near amenities in town is your choice. If you are driving, you can use your GPS and it does find this place well (I used my mobile's GPS).

This place is well suited for a relaxing, do-nothing-holiday and recharging your mind after hectic and busy city life. It is peaceful, soothing, and quiet. By the time we left we thought that we should have stayed here longer.

Discovered the resort by doing an internet search for clothing optional in Thailand, and so pleased we did. I thoroughly agree with other reviewers about the beauty and peacefulness of the resort, and its surroundings. Paulo was at the airport to meet us, and was a great host throughout our stay. He drove us to various places, such as the umbrella village, and the hot springs. Ask him while you are there to get the local ladies to come and give you a massage. Massage by the pool after an enjoyable breakfast. Wonderful way to start each day.
Thanks Paulo, and your lovely lady. We will be back!

What started as a daytime visit to The Orchid Village Resort ended in a fabulous over night stay. Whilst based in Chiang Mai we were both surprised and delighted when a random internet search bought up somewhere which catered to naturists (although not compulsory at the resort) We rung the owner, Paulo before we set off and he was very helpful in giving directions. The resort is about 45 mins by motorbike, less by car. We were given a warm welcome on our arrival and sat down to an icy beer before we were given a tour of the resort. We got talking to another couple who had spent the week there but were heading off shortly so we had the place to ourselves for the afternoon, before several new guests arrived in the evening. The facilities were just what we needed for an afternoon of chilling out. The location is stunning with a gorgeous backdrop of mountains and rice fields - like something straight out of a National Geographic magazine. It was tough (ha ha) but we managed to wile away the afternoon in the pool, sunning ourselves and indulging in the odd game of badminton and volleyball on one of the several lawns. Their attractive villas come well equipped with aircon, small fridge, tv and tea/ coffee making facilities. The bathrooms are of particular note - huge and well equipped. We had a couple g and t,s watching the sun set behind the mountains before sitting down to dinner. The menu serves fairly standard thai and western fare and both the food and service were fine. We would definitely recommend staying here if you fancy recharging your batteries for a few days from the hectic pace of chiang mai. Where else in Thailand can you swim naked with such a spectacular backdrop! A warm welcome awaits you.

Ps a day pass is available for a fee but we would recommend staying over.

We enjoyed every day of our holiday up there in Chang Mai. The Resort is beautifully placed with breathtaking view onto the mountains and surrounded like an island of green rice fields. The tranquility and still not too far away from the bustling city of Chang Mai makes it the ideal place to stay. We loved to be able to shun our clothes and sun bath, swim and even eat in the nude.
The beautiful cottages are placed between banana trees and are in a discreet distance from the pool and offer all the amenities you need and like to have. TV, Aircon, hot water, Safe, fridge and facility to make your cup of coffee. Everything we found spotless clean. The restaurant offers Thai as well European cuisine. We will be back there for sure.

Room Tip: All the bungalows are the same we stayed in nr 12

We were in Chiang Mai, a very nice city in the north of Thailand, after one week in Bangkok to visit some friends there. We met an other italian at dinner in the city and I suggest us to come and visit this resort, we went with him from the centre of Chiang Mai and it tooks just 20 min to get to the Village. As soon we get into the tropical garden we decided to move here! We had just planned few days in Chiang Mai but after discovered this little paradise we spent one week more! What can we say more? Perfect place for nature lovers, there where a guess, an italian man and a french guy that were naked in the swimming pool, we are not naturist but after two days we left our swimsuits in the room and we felt really comfortable. We do believe everybody will rebirth here in few days. A lot of nice place, really "Thai" place, in the surronding areas, cheap to reach by car or motorcycles (you can rent mountain bike as well), good thai and western food, great "singha" beer, nice and open-minded people to meet and talk to at the restaurant... A "must stay" hotel for everybody. (but...please...don't spread the word too much!)

Room Tip: Any room is at the same distance from the swimming pool, no noises anywhere during the day or nights...
