Tucked away behind the main street this restaurant is a gem. Whilst retaining exposed stone walls and curved brick ceilings the decor is unreservedly modern and, surprisingly, it works. All the solid wood tables are for 2 people but can easily be arranged to seat 4, 6 etc.. I sat on a long solid wood bench and was glad of the cushions lining the back to sit on. The wooden chairs may be uncomfortable for those without their own padding.
There is an a la carte menu and two set menus with choices at Euros 22 and 32. Both represented good value. The food was well presented, the sauces excellent and everything was cooked to perfection. Despite being a Tuesday evening outside the tourist season when we visited the restaurant was busy with business people, families and couples. Clearly booking will be necessary at weekends and in season. Offers better value and a better experience than several restaurants in other towns so worth travelling here if staying in the area.
