We stayed here for a long weekend over our first wedding anniversary. Nothing bad to say about this cosy cottage! The fire was lively and it was just chilly enough to light it in the evenings. Everything was thoughtfully provided and was well equipped. Would definately recommend.

“Delightful cottage”
Reviewed September 5, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Great value for money. We visited in August for a few days break in the lakes. Very close to M6 and Penrith. Situated in a small village and very close to hotel and pub. You must try both places to eat. You can't park next to cottage but you can park up the road without issue. Cottage is fully stocked and has a mega sized double bed which is very comfortable. Second bedroom is nice too. Small shower and running water not powerful. Telephone reception poor and Internet connection only available in kitchen. Overall I strongly recommend this cottage, the area and the lakes

“Wonderful cottage ideally located”
Reviewed July 29, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Stage 3 of our family UK road trip and it was definitely the most relaxing. The cottage was everything advertised and more. The beds were so comfortable and the cottage was full of character. Location was superb, just off the motorway and within a couple of miles of Penrith yet still rural and convenient to Ullswater. Kids (12 & 9 years) loved the Rehged Centre which was a minutes drive away and the Brantwood, next door, provided good food and hospitality. Would happily recommend Gibson Cottage to anyone wanting to explore the Lakes.

“Cosy and comfortable cottage, splendid for outings in Northern England & Lake District”

Had a great time in this small but cosy and comfortable cottage. Splendid location for when you want to go rambling around Northern England and the Lake District. Keswick, Kendal and Carlisle areal within 45 minutes driving, Ullswater is just down the road. The Lakes are a magnificent area to roam about in, even for continentals who are not all that experienced in left-hand driving. Actually coming from Switzerland we're used to long and short winding roads so even overtook locals attempting to drive up or down "the Struggle" (small country road winding down to Ambleside from the Kirkstone Pass- beautiful but quite probably hazardous in winter!). Thank you Suzanne for your accessibility even when you yourself were holidaying in "our" holiday country Switzerland! Definitely recommended.
