As a party of six friends we have recently spent the weekend in the Lake District and called into Pooley Bridge for something to eat.
Everywhere was quite busy with it being a Bank Holiday but we managed to get tables at Granny Dowbekin's.
The interior was well designed and decorated well. The Staff were very welcoming and the manager couldn't do enough for us.
The food was pretty basic but tasted delicious, was presented well and we didn't have to wait too long.
The manager went to great lengths to make sure we all got individual bills!!!!
The cakes looked fantastic!!!!! However we were too full up from our main meal to indulge further!!
Would definitely return when we next visit....making sure we sample the cakes next time!!!

We stopped in for a quick evening meal. The food was brought out quickly. It was filling and hot. Great value for money.
Muddy boots were welcome!

What a gem, we stumbled on this tea room by accident and love it. The service was amazing and the food was delicious. A must if you are in the area.

A 'must' whenever we are in Pooley Bridge and my grandchildren love the cakes. When we last visited, the refurbishment was almost complete and new, wooden chairs and tables had been installed. But I really miss the quirky, mismatched tables and chairs ...
