We stayed at Rock House Farm in Dormouse cottage and have to say it was brilliant. The cottage was immaculate and everything was there that we needed even a play area at the back of the cottages for our youngest (although I think he preferred playing with Max the dog).

Very peaceful setting as well which was just what we needed after spending 2 very hectic days at Alton Towers.

Would definately recommend the cottages as a base for exploring the area. We will definately be back - maybe just the two of us this time as it is a perfect place to unwind.

We are just back from a fantastic holiday at Rock House Farm. We booked Dormouse cottage, it was beautiful. Our party consisted of 2 adults and 2 children - aged 7 years and 20 months.

The cottage was well equipped for the kids - stair gates, high chair, booster chair, kids cups, crockery and cutlery, cots, bed sides -you name it, they had it! The toys provided were amazing, 3 big boxes for the kids - Carol has thought of everything, the toys were aimed at their ages too. Videos and books were also available and board games - my 6 year old loved Monopoly lol

Carol has recently purchased a pushchair which we had use of for the duration of our stay! This was a huge help to us, the pushchair is excellent. Top quality.

The cottage was so clean, everything provided - bedding, towels, toiletries, cleaning products. The washing machine was a great asset! We had bread, butter, tea, hot chocolate and milk waiting for us on arrival - perfect after a long journey and a lovely surprise.

The kids loved the garden, sadly the weather wasn't the best so we couldn't make use of the BBQ area, but on a sunny day it would be great.

The cottage is in a gorgeous village, very quiet, great location for exploring the local area. We visited Alton Towers, including the waterpark there - highly recommend both. We also visited Monkey Forest which my 20 month old really enjoyed and it wasn't too expensive either :-) My husband sampled the local beer in the local pub, they had a quiz night, he said they were friendly and the beer was good!

We will definitely be back - amazing value for money, great for families. We are considering bringing a larger party next time and booking 2 cottages.

Thanks to Carol and Ken for being so welcoming and accommodating - lovely people!

Room Tip: Dormouse was perfect for our party size, sleeps 5 plus a cot.

We visited last summer and I can honestly say the cottage was spotlessly clean first thing I did was to soak in the lovely bath which was a joy after a long journey. The kids 13 and 11 were totally charmed by the cottage (badger) and we loved that we could stroll around the tiny hamlet but also enjoy food at the pub. I organised a delivery from Asda of food so we didn't have to worry about food, our lovely host had put lovely fresh bread jam tea/coffee and milk in their for us arriving. An absolute delight and highly recommended we even forgot a very important school photo and this was posted on for us.... Nothing was too much trouble, relax and enjoy beautifully setting and fab cottages

Room Tip: Any of the cottages would be worth booking we had a little look at them and they all were of a very...

I booked Hedgehog and Dormouse cottages for accommodation before and after my wedding at Consall Hall Gardens. We used both cottages for myself and the bridesmaids to get ready in, and then on the night of the wedding, one for myself and new husband and one for the bridesmaids to stay in.
The cottages were ideal for us to get ready in - plenty of space for the bride, 3 bridesmaids and assorted family members with room for the hairdresser, flowers and dresses!
Carol could not have done more for us, from leaving some provisions when we arrived, to decorating the outside of the cottages with flowers and bows to match our colour scheme which is much more than we would ever have expected.
Highly recommended!

Plenty of space and nicely laid out accomodation - highly recommend and would return, ideal location to Alton Towers - a lovely country road quick drive to the Theme Park, lovely accomodation to come back to after a busy day. Lovely views and surrounding countryside.

We've been self-catering for 25+ years. Not cheaply - English Country Cottages, Ecosse Unique and so on. We've never been anywhere that's provided such a high level of services - bread, butter, milk, coffee, tea etc all waiting for us. The fire was laid for us every day when we were out - a very pleasant surprise. Extremely comfortable cottage (Hedgehog). Peaceful location and a short walk from a pub (Fox & Goose) with excellent beer and food. Thank you very much to Carol and Ken for making a much needed break so relaxing.
