Had a lovely meal here, menu was awesome I could've tried any number of things happily! Only complaint is that service was really slow and the restaurant wasn't busy while we were in- needs sped up

Booked for Sunday lunch but had to change the booking, no problem. On arrival we were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. The menu offered a wide variety but being lunch time Sunday we both chose Sunday roasts, one beef, one lamb. When they were served, the lamb was deemed not hot enough by my companion but our waiter dealt with the problem efficiently and apologetically and a fresh lamb and new side dishes arrived promptly with a courteous query as to whether the beef was satisfactory or also needed replacement. There was certainly a feeling of customer care at Harrys.
Apart from that little incident the food was excellent and the staff were attentive, checking regularly to see that everything was OK. We followed the main courses with crumbles for dessert and these were delicious.
As we had a distance to travel afterwards we unfortunately had to keep our time at Harry's short but we enjoyed it. Before we left we purchased some home made brown bread and some local eggs to take home.
We enjoyed the food, the ambiance and the service and were very pleased with the prices.

After hearing that the menu's had changed we were excited to make a family booking for a meal last weekend. Overall, the service and the long wait disappointed us the most. When we arrived we were told that the sole was finished on the menu and after ordering our starters/mains and waiting for ten minutes, we were then told that the goats cheese was finished. It was the way that the waitress informed us of this that was most disappointing, we weren't offered another choice, just told there was no more left. After a very long wait our food arrived and it was very tasty. Everybody enjoyed the food, and we cannot fault it at all. I have to commend the two barmen/perhaps owner? who greeted us on the way in, and who also checked in with us during our meal, they were very friendly and made a great effort with us.

heard so much about this place.... afterwards i wondered why!

About 8 ppl in the restaurant when we arrived. Atmosphere didnt exist. Dreary decor. Needs a lift.

Ordered two simple starters and waited 40 mins for them. Just ok. Nthing special. Very small portion for a starter but main was small too and waited s good 30 min on that which i thought was a joke. Went home starving

Hi 1982Petals,

It gives us no pleasure to read this review and feel the effects of its very negative impact but we do thank you for visiting. We take every bit of feedback seriously and work on improving things every day we open the doors and will continue to do so.
We have changed every menu in the last weeks in our biggest push forward. We are sourcing more locally than ever and grow more of our own vegetables than ever over 2 acres of gardens and polytunnels.
I'm not sure how the timings on your meal were so wrong but I can promise the next time you are in that is not the case. do consider coming back and sampling again. Honestly, the food hasn't been better in the last few years than it is right now.

Tuesday evening meal with friends. Nice friendly staff, very good meat, well prepared to my taste (rare). Tasty beer from Kinnegar Brewing in neighboring Rathmullen. Probably the best meal I’ve had around Derry.
