My family and I stayed at Woodall Country House and we were very impressed by the attention to detail that the owners had achieved . The rooms were very spacious and the bathrooms matched the rooms perfectly. My children now teenagers (12 & 14 ) felt very special honored , there was a welcome note on their beds addressed to them specifically which set the tone for our entire stay.
The Woodall team looked after us very attentively and their meals were tasty and top class. The air around the estate was sweet with the smell of orange blossoms that time of the year which enhanced the experience.
If you in the Addo area and need a place to stay look no further and book in at Woodall Country House and Spa.

Woodall is an oasis set in beautiful grounds ,our room was huge and extremely comfortable and we loved the outdoor double shower.

The service is excellent and friendly and the food in the restaurant is of a very high standard, my daily special on one day was the best breakfast in 3 weeks in SA and i love my breakfasts.

The team are all excellent and there to make your stay as good as possible. We had a couple of hiccups whilst there, neither of which was the hotel's fault ,and they dealt with them efficiently and professionally.

We also took the 3 day Safari package and both the morning game drive with Ruan(The Hotel Manager) and our day Safari to Amkhala were great. Amkhala was special as we had a game ranger to ourself for the day who despite rain made it memorable.

It's hard to know where to start when describing just how amazing Woodall is. My husband and I spent three nights here (we opted for the three night all inclusive safari package) and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay. From the minute we arrived we received a big warm welcome and that really set the tone for the rest of our stay here. The grounds were beautiful and very well maintained as was our room (which was more like a suite and also had an outdoor shower for two which was great!). The food was fantastic and we found all of the staff both in the restaurant and elsewhere to be warm, attentive and very efficient. It's the little touches that make woodall extra special - we loved the welcome note, flowers and chocolates when we arrived, the little notes on our pillow each night (accompanied by more chocolates), the home made lemonade and biscuits that you could help yourself to (delicious), the complimentary hydrobath treatment and the complimentary bottles of water placed by your bed every day - they even give you bottles of water when you check out which we really appreciated with a long drive ahead of us. You also have the opportunity to meet the owners for pre dinner drinks, and although our long days meant we never actually met them during our stay this too was a nice personal touch. Woodall have literally thought of everything and you would struggle to find somewhere that goes as far as Woodall does to provide such fantastic hospitality. We honestly can"t recommend it highly enough and hope to return again one day.

We only stayed 2 nights this time, which was our first stay, but we will definitely be staying longer next time, what a wonderful time we had here, an idyllic spot, so relaxing and the food was superb with excellent service and attention to detail, our Game Drive around Addo was one of the highlights of our South African holiday.

We stayed here for 1 night during our Garden Route tour and my only complaint is that we were not here long enough. The Woodall is in a lovely, peaceful country location ideally situated for Addo Elephant Park (for which they will arrange Game Drives etc.).

The layout is small guesthouses dotted about the grounds with a separate reception building, Spa and Dining Room/Bar all situated in absolutely stunning gardens. The (small) pool area was equally nice and the whole place was spotless. We didn't get time to use the Spa.

The room was simply beautiful with a huge bed, separate sitting area and nice bathroom with additional outdoor showers. The welcome was as warm as could be and they looked after our bags while we went to Addo having arrived way too early to check in and the owners are obviously hugely proud of the establishment and made us feel at home and offered homemade lemonade at all times which was fabulous.

We had the 7 course dinner included in our package and this was magnificent, some of the best food I have ever had served in a lovely dining room overlooking the lake with birds, bats and other distractions. The service was first class and the wine list extensive and reasonably priced. Breakfast was similarly excellent with the widest choice of jams and marmalades I have ever seen!

I won't spoil anyone's surprises but some of the extra touches provided during our stay were delightful and unexpected.

Would I recommend - YES
Would I return - in a instant.
