“Great organic food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2013 via mobile

This place is unique, a really interesting concept with a talking menu of whatever is fresh that day! Enough choices to satisfy our group of seven and our small kids were well catered for. Dessert was a definite highlight.

“Wow-effect in the desert of food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2013

Getting here and having the chance to get a meal at night was great! Since the options around are pretty disillusioning you might find your perfect evening after a exhausting day at Addo Park!
We stayed 20km away and came here even be driving 10km of gravel road. The meat was perfect, usually we don't like impala that much, but hazel turned our mind.
Only open after 6pm, 2 basic (but delicious!!!) starters, 3 mains and 2 deserts are being individually presented to you. This basic kitchen concept is the key! Nice food, interior is cool, people are relaxed and some even brought their own wine. Prices are reasonable and worth the Rands you spend! WiFi is available aswell, for us there won't be any other choice for dining in this area!

“Amazing cuisine deep in the bush”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2013

Well, not really that deep into the bush, but amazing nevertheless. Hazel and Randy have opened their latest gastronomic venture in the village of Addo, basically next door to the well known elephant park, some time in late 2012. We were there on recommendation from our B&B host in Jan. 2013. The interior is simple, yet the food is superb and quite refined. It's not only home grown veggies, it's also some of the best meats available around that Hazel exquisitely prepares for your pleasure. So much so, that everywhere else we went during the rest of our trip to SA, we were disappointed. The kudu & springbok steaks will astound you with their characterful flavour. The springbok carpaccio is absolutely lovely and so tender, it melts in your mouth. The ostrich fillet is simply from another planet. Add to that Hazel's warm, graceful presence, and Randy's humorous stories, and you will want to come back every night. It beats much, much pricier restaurants hands down. Also, a great deal of the earnings is invested in local sustainability projects, as both hosts are permaculture experts. (More about that on their blog permaculturesouthafrica dot com) Thumbs up, Hazel and Randy! We hope to see you again soon! Andrei & Beatrice
