We were very well received by Delano & his wife. Very clean and comfortable rooms, minibar with drinks. We only had 1/2 day to spend in Addo and Delano was such an enthusiastic and friendly host for the game drive that I would recommend this to all people who want to get the most out of their visit to Addo. We had the chance to see elephants & lions from very close, a jackhal, Uddu, Buffalo, a snake, turtles,... It is great that they take along a very nice pic-nic breakfast on the game drive.
Very nice place & extremely friendly hosts; I would definately recommend this place!

We stayed in the 2 bedroom self-catering cottage on the property, the bedrooms can both be configured as either double or twin bedded rooms. The cottage has a kitchenette, dining table and basic but sufficient cooking facilities. There is only one bathroom between the two rooms. There are also bed and breakfast rooms which looked to be very nice. The staff here were very friendly and were happy to offer recommendations for dinner and picking up breakfast supplies. This is a small working farm with lovely citrus orchards and dairy cows and goats (fenced off) on the property which added to the atmosphere. The cottage is built in the dutch cape style with thatched roof, it overlooks the citrus orchard toward the cliffs beyond and there is also a braai (bbq) on the cottage porch should you be enegetic enough to cook.

The property is only 10 minutes from Addo National Park, so ideal for anyone wanting to do a self drive safari.

We ate at Lenmore Bakery and Deli which was excellent value .

We stayed here for 1 night on our way to Addo. It is only about a 10 minute drive to the gate of the park. We stayed in the self catering unit which consisted of 2 rooms (with twin or double beds), a bathroom and a main area with a table and kitchenette. Very simple furnishings but clean and comfortable. The owners were lovely and the surrounds are beautiful. Would definitely stay again given its perfect location. The B&B rooms looked lovely. There is a pool too.

We travelled to Addo in july and came upon this lovely farm near the elephant park. Delano and his wife were so helpful and couldn't do enough for us. He took us on safari on the 2nd day of our trip supplying us with a great breakfast picnic. The jeep was perfect for being driven around as we could see so much more than those who were doing the self-drive option in their own cars. He seemed to know everything about the animals as well as the history of the place and made a CD of the pictures for us afterwards. That night we ate on the farm so had a chance to try some local cooking.
As it was Winter there, it was very cold at night and we couldn't really figure out the heating in the rooms so were a bit cold. They would be perfect in Summer though when you're looking for somewhere cool.
Breakfasts were great and served overlooking the pool and gardens. The 3 dogs were very friendly and happy to loll about with guests.
Lovely place to start the garden route from.

We stayed at Old Drift two nights while in the Addo Elephant Park area. The hosts were helpful and gave good advice, made arrangements for us, and got breakfast started early when we needed to leave early for a tour. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The price is just right. The farm is a bit out of the way but that can be seen as a benefit. It is quiet and tranquil setting. There are three wonderful dogs--and a brand new baby. You must like dogs. The dogs are friendly are do not bother you. Delano went out of his way to be accommodating. All in all, a wonderful stay.

Everything about De Old Drift Guest Farm makes us want to return. From the efficient greeting via intercom at the gate through the friendly dogs guiding us to our parking space to the provision of china, cutlery and napkins for our take-away meal - the owners and managers of this working citrus farm could not do enough for us. The air-conditioned rooms - each with a delightful view of the garden from their own patio - were spotless and very comfortable. We had a delightful breakfast under a traditional thatched roof - watching a weaver bird working on building his nest.
The "diamond in the crown" for our stay was the 5hours long drive in Addo Elephant National Park - just my husband and I. Elephants, kudus, warthogs, dung beetles, water buffaloes - all in the wild with an expert and enthusiastic naturalist - Delano (from De Old Drift Guest Farm).
Our thanks to all the family at De Old Drift Guest Farm
