Another beautiful beach, not quite as deserted as nearby Bordeira beach. But Amado has a toilet, and delicious food van, surf school etc.
You can drive or walk along the track to Bordeira for more seclusion.
Amado has a perfect sandy stretch of beach, nice rocks to climb on and plenty of surf apparently. We watched a few surf schools on the waves.
An absolutely gorgeous piece of coastline, probably one of the best I've visited in Europe.

During our drive from Sagres to Lisbon, we tried to hit as many beaches as possible. We found that most are off the beaten path and not all beaches are clearly marked. The first we came upon and decided to visit wa Amado Beach. A winding drive through the hills with not much around and out of nowhere a full parking lot bustling with all walks of life overlooking a breathtaking beach and a surfers paradise. A bar, restaurant, surf shop and beautiful scenery. My husband ended up renting a board for a couple of hours and I relaxed and people watched on the beach. This beach had a mix of people and my husband said he felt like he was in Huntington Beach, CA. If this kind of laid back scene set against the beautiful beaches and cliffs of the Portgual Coast is your thing then do NOT miss this beach. It's this beach that made me decide that we would come back to Portgugal, forgo town and city hopping and rent a house in the Algarve region and do nothing but beach hop and relax.

This is the best beach for surfers in europe. perfect waves on most days of the year. A bit smaller waves on the left side of the beach, bigger waves on the right side.

Big beach, big waves! Nice beach cafe and surf school who rent out boards. All the lessons we had were fun. Do kids lessons too, enjoyed by the children.

We found this picturesque beach by accident driving down from Zambujeira do Mar to the Algarve region. And what a happy accident it was! We kept going back there although was 50 minutes drive from our place. The water was crispy clean, good waves, laid back atmosphere, not overbuilt and over developed like so many other beaches, but had the basics like toilets and a small buffet caravan serving drinks and simple food like soup and sandwiches. I think it's good with small kids, too, because the water deepens slowly although the waves can get rough at times.
