“Great central touring location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 26, 2013

We stayed here for 3 nights in September in the self contained studio apartment. The house and setting are charming and our room very attractive although the bed linen was unironed and the towels had seen better days. The "kitchen" which we were supposed to have had neither saucepan nor plate so cooking would have been out of the question. The fridge however came in handy.Breakfast was set up outside at 8.30 with bread ,butter, jam, orange juice even though one set of guests did not come to eat until 10.00 !
Our hostess Silvi was charming and spoke excellent English and proved a good cook although the 3 course meal we had was vastly over priced 25 euro per head for sheep's cheese salad with bread, mussel soup(served in a wine glass) with rice and peach and raspberries for dessert. My main course contained precisely 6 mussels.
We had to clean the lovely pool before we swam as the pool cleaner didn't work until the last day.
'So a lovely house in an excellent location with more attention to detail needed.

Room Tip: There is no Air Conditioning in the Studio Apartment .

My husband and I have been cycling for a few days through the Cevennes and Camargue on a self guided tour organised by Cycling Languedoc. They had booked Silvi's B&B for us in this little village and we were delighted that they had. The bedroom was large and comfortable. The bathroom was enormous. The supper was delicious and breakfast next morning just as good. Silvi speaks English very well indeed and that makes a very relaxing visit for non expert French speakers such as ourselves. She was very helpful and charming.

We loved everything. Great hostess, Silvi, making you feel at home and providing great tips. Food was home made (except for the baguette ;-)) and delicious. The room and bathroom reminded me a couple of lyrics from Pink Floyd:
"Oh my God! What a fabulous room!
"This place is bigger than our apartment!
Location is very good, in quite a small town so you can isolate yourself from the daily rush, but close enough to all main sites to visit.
The only problem then is where to stay next, difficult to have one as good as this one.

..We had a very comfortable room with a huge bathroom and bath...just the thing after a hard days cycling. Sylvie was a warm and charming hostess and cooked us a delicious dinner. I would highly recommend this as a great place to stay.

We had the most delighful two days in this chambre d'hote - we were extremely happy with
our room which had the largest bathroom I have ever seen. The delighful Silvi was a great hostess and made us quite at home.

We enjoyed two excellent dinners cooked by Silvi and would recommend a stay at this friendly
establishment.

This is a wonderful chambre d'hote / gite / restaurant. An old mas, sensitively and artistically restored, with very comfortable and spacious rooms. Those we saw - one a delightful family apartment, another with a bathroom the size of a bedroom, another a large room opening straight onto a swimming pool and a gite with a private garden - all warm, welcoming and tasteful. The welcome and atmosphere is also very personal and warm, a delightful hostess who could so easily become a friend. She is also an excellent and original chef, we enjoyed a delcious meal and were sorry to leave. An ideal stop for exploring the Camargue, away from the mosquitos but conveniently close for easy day trips. Highly recommended.

We booked this Gite with trepidation due to the other UK reviewers comments. However,

I have to say that the Gite the estate and the host exceeded all our expectations, this was without doubt the most beautiful property we have stayed at in over twenty years of renting holiday properties in the south of France. The Gite itself is beautifully appointed and impeccably maintained, with great bathrooms and the most amazing kitchen. In the summer heat it benefits from a good deal of natural shade which makes it very cool and welcoming both for an afternoon siesta and for sleeping perfectly at night.

The owner of the Gite Silvi is the most charming and helpful host we have ever met. When she discovered we were interested in the local wines of the region she went out of her way to introduce us personally to local winemakers and arrange tours of their vineyards and winery. One other enormous bonus is that Silvi is the most incredible cook and offers an evening meal service if you request it, By the second week we had given up completely on cooking in the evening and had Silvi take care of all our meals.

All in all I can not recommend this property highly enough, we have already rebooked for next year and I can see this becoming a firm family favourite.
