“Fantastic!!”
Reviewed September 26, 2009

Stayed here for our last three nights after leaving our cheap and nasty accommodation elsewhere. They gave us a special deal and even though it is usually out of our budget, it was worth every cent. Motu at the front desk is very pleasant to deal with and always helpful.
The courtyard pool suite was amazing! Everything about this place wowed us. The bathroom was pure luxury. It also had a microwave and small kitchenette (which we didn't use).
The resort is constantly kept immaculately clean.
Oceans restaurant was great on seafood night, and Windjammer is a must -not- miss. We went there twice.
They have a very reasonably priced massage facilities.

There are some broken glass along this stretch of beach, but you need reef shoes anyway. It wasn't a big issue for us.

Highly recommended place for a romantic get-a-way, couples etc. We also stayed a few nights at Muri beach Club, but it didn't have the same feel. I think it was too modern, and not island-style.

Note: the locals are on 'island time' throughout the island. Do not think this is rudeness. If you need anything, ask and you shall find that it is no issue at all. Eg. Carrying bags etc.

We would love to return here when the weather is better so we can get in the water :)

We stayed at Crown Beach Resort in August, my husband and two kids (in their 20's) in a 2 bedroom unit and had a great time. The Resort itself is lovely. Our poolside unit was perfect. Quiet yet so close to everything. The service was very very good, especially the servicing of our rooms. The food in the beachfront restaurant was very good, in fact we only ate away from the resort once and that was a disappointment. Windjammers looked like an excellent restaurant also, but was fully booked the night we were going to dine there.
The location is excellent also, there is good snorkelling right out front and the staff were very good with directions etc especially Dawn, who we found great !! All in all would return anytime.

Wow!!! What a restort. After an excessive time spent deliberating which resort we wanted to stay at, we finally chose the Crown Beach Resort and were not disappointed.
The place was amazing! The staff were wonderful and on numerous occasions went above and beyond what was required of them.
Motu (from Reception) was a prime example. For instance, he volunteered to return our rental car in his own free time as we were going on a tour the next day. He also gave us a lift in his car to a near by restaurant because we were running late for a reservation one evening.
Donna (our friendly Oceans restaurant manager) was great fun and equally as helpful. she even offered to post me a flower (for my hair) as I had lost mine three hours before were were due to fly home. All the bar staff were great and my husband especially enjoyed the large measures they served him!!!
The food in the Oceans restuarant was excellent and extremely good value. The Windjammer restaurant had equally as good food although was not on the beach like Oceans. Steak night and Island night at the Oceans restaurant should not be missed. If you fancy another excellent restaurant on the beach, walk fifteen minutes down the road to the "Waterline". The hosts are great and so is the food!!! However, we found that most restaurants we ate at produced a great standard of food.
At the Crown Beach we stayed in a court yard pool suite which was INCREDIBLE. Loved the privacy and the room exceded all expectations (pure luxury). I even got a free massage at the adjacent spa which did not disappoint.
It is hard to fault this resort and would recommend to all.

We visited the Crown Beach Resort after a stay in Etu Moana on Aitutaki. The hotel was nice , but the stuff... The different was demonstrativ. When I booked the hotel I asked for organisation of a transfer from the airport - no answer. We arrived at 11 a.m. The female employee said us: Check- in-time is noon, you must wait. We think the hotel wasn't full, she acted formal. When we drink a cocktail in the evening, the waitress worked weary - no decoration with fruits. She gave the impression: You disturb me. The only bright spot was the young man, who workes at the reception, when we check out. We required a taxi to the airport. He took the car and brought us to the airport - uncomplicated and nice.

My girlfriend and I spent a week at Crown Beach Resort in July 09 and loved every second of it! We were a bit unsure of where to stay in Raro as had never been there. Were concerned by a couple of the prev reviews on Crown Beach but after our stay there we recommend it 110% and will definately be going back. We stayed in a Beach Front Villa which was absolutely stunning (although a bit pricey). Even if you didnt want to spend as much we would recommend staying in one of the cheaper options at Crown Beach than anywhere else. Should say that we are a couple with no kids - this place prob isnt the best option for families. The food and service in the bar and restaurant at Crown Beach was sensational... and cheap! We tried a couple of other places but decided in the end just to stay and eat at our resort as we felt it was the best. Island night is a must!... great entertainment and great food! Only slight complaint we would have had was with reception and booking things - they are all so relaxed there pays to double check on any bookings you make through reception! We looked at all the resorts while in Raro and we felt the only one that compared to Crown Beach was Rumours but thats real expensive. Before we went we had contemplated staying at Little Polynesian but after seeing it, glad we didnt! Anyhow, felt we had to write a review on this site as we found it so helpful when planning our trip!

We stayed here on the first parft of our honeymoon and were not disappointed. The beachfront villa was lovely and comfortable and we had our own jacuzzi on our balcony, which looked out onto the lagoon. Breakfasts were lovely with lots of fresh fruit, and the meals we ate in the restaurant were also very good.
What made this place great though was the staff - so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
Can't wait to go back !

We stayed at the Crown Beach Resort in Sept 06 and loved it. The wedding planner was great. Accomodation was amazing - one of the nicest resorts on the island. It's very boutique and gives a feeling you're in paradise. There was a mishap with our bookings, but they were really good about it, and made it up to us. I'd highly recommend this resort.
