We travelled to the Crown beach for our honeymoon and loved it. Perfectly, quiet with just enough happening. Let me break each component down:
Service - Excellent! Friendly, efficient cannot fault it! Everyone from the cleaners to front desk staff were lovely!
Breakfast - The cold breakfast was lovely, fruit was always fresh (of course) and the mini-croissants are to die for! The hot breakfast was average though - poached eggs over done etc
Room - We had a pool suite! My husband and I loved this so much! Even now we are home we still miss it! The pool was awesome - spent hours in there! Perfect after a little day trip out. The bathroom was luxurious - a must for me! Double sinks, huge mirror, awesome monsoon shower - that was just powerful enough and the bath was super romantic!
Resort - The resort was beautifully done, I loved the way that it was lit up at night.
Beach - Although not as stunning as Muri, the snorkeling here is excellent! We saw some of the best fish here! Don't get me wrong, the beach and the water is stunning! Plus the hotel provide good quality snorkel and mask! (Be sure to take your reef shoes though)
Main hotel pool - Nice enough, we didn't really spend too much time here as we had our own pool
Spa - Our package included a massage and facial - loved them! So so so so nice! Highly recommend!
Other comments - I guess the only real negative thing I could say, just to be honest, is that we didn't really enjoy the cocktails....

So to summarize, perfect for ultimate relaxation, pampering and spending quality time with the one you love :D

Room Tip: Pool suites are beautiful!

We did not stay at this hotel during our visit to the Cooks but next time we will. We utilised the hotel's excellent 2-for-1 happy hour and we were impressed with the attentive staff and delicious cocktails. The food we ordered with our drinks was also routinely excellent.

The resort is a quiet, relaxing haven set in beautiful gardens with a resident turtle out the front. Reception staff were also really courteous and interested, inviting us in to use the restaurant and bar which we did most nights of our holiday. This is how to holiday.

In August this year we travelled to Rarotonga with a group of friends to celebrate a 50th birthday. We decided to stay at the Crown Beach. The main drawcard for us was the private courtyard units and our own swimming pools. Very nice. The gardens, bar area, beach front, villas were all just amazing. We couldn't fault over villa at all, it was very nice. We have stayed in several different places on the Island. For us, this complex was nice, a bit overpriced. Disappointing that the room service was very basic, you could order chips or garlic bread. Not much of a choice is you are wanting a quiet nite in. We enjoyed our meal at the Windjammer Restaurant but not so much our meals in the main dinning area. Breakfasts were ok. Disappointed that their wasn't much fresh fruit to choose from. Being a tropical island you expect to see a little more than bananas. Happy hour was great and well worthwhile popping in for.

Room Tip: Pay a little extra and get a private courtyard room with swimming pool, well worth while.

Kia Orana,

Thank you for your constructive feedback on your recent stay at Crown Beach Resort & Spa.

We are pleased to read that you loved the ultra private Courtyard Pool Suite with high stone walls, private swimming pool and outdoor dining gazebo.

We are equally pleased to read that you enjoyed all our resort amenities and facilities including our restaurants, bars, gym, dive centre, concierge-tour desk, and more.

Lunches can be delivered to your villa between 11.30am-3pm. Dinner can be delivered to your villa from 6.30-9pm. We suspect you wanted to order room service between 3-6pm when our snack menu is available (including french fries, garlic bread, garden salad, etc). Our kitchens need time to pack out lunch service, sanitise, and setup for dinner service.

Our breakfast service features seasonal fruit. In cool August - Rarotonga has limited fruit available including pawpaw, carambola & bananas. In the summertime, from November - Rarotonga's fruit selection expands with honeydew, rock melon, watermelon, strawberries (locally grown), soursop, pineapple and more.

Oceans Restaurant launched its new summer menu's on the 1st October and the results have been fantastic. We are sure you will be impressed.

We hope to see you both again, soon.

Resort was beautiful and villa's were nice. Upgraded to a private pool villa which was SOOOOO NICE! Really enjoyed it. Nice quiet place with friendly, helpful professional staff. Would go back in a heartbeat :) Shame the Tang lounge is closed and were not told this untill after booking when it has been closed for months! But the Windjammer restraunt onsite is well worth dinning at. Brilliant meals. Well done to them for the meals and service :)
Certainly one of the nicer resorts we found after looking through most while touring the island on our MEAN lil scooter :p

Room Tip: All very private and upgrading for 2 or more nights to the private pool villa is a very good idea as...

We are equally pleased to read that you loved your meals at our restaurants, especially our award-winning signature restaurant - Windjammer. My friend and I booked a 2 bd villa (#13), right next to the pool and because the resort is small, quiet and spread out we were not disturbed by pool users at all, almost had it to ourselves most days (may be quieter this time of year). The pool was always well maintained and cleaned. We cannot fault the staff, they were all friendly and helpful especially the cleaning ladies for their excellent job and tips on doing tours. The reception staff were also extremely helpful organising a rental car etc.
The villas are clean and nicely furnished. Only fault was beds were a bit uncomfortable.
The resort is in a good location, in a quieter spot on the beach with the fringing reef great for snorkeling. Gardens are beautiful and maintained by very friendly gardeners.
The breakfast is not going to win any Michelin stars but was perfectly acceptable. What Oceans serve up with limited resources available is very good, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes were always tasty. They have a small hot breakfast menu with a good selection and a continental buffet with fruits, yoghurts, bread, spreads and cheese, ham and cereals. Due to the isolation and limited shipments from NZ, milk is powdered (we discovered one bottle of fresh in the supermarket at $7.50/L) so Oceans do their best. We ate there twice for dinner and snacks and meals were tasty and good servings. Try the Island fries (chips made from the different root vegetables available on the islands) very yummy.
The absolute standout food experience is Windjammers restaurant. Again with limited resources these chefs deliver an outstanding menu at a price not that more expensive than Oceans. This restaurant is a must for everyone! My only regret was not eating there more often!
Another standout experience is the Island night on Monday or Thursday nights. This includes dinner and a traditional dancing/music show. The young school kids were extremely cute and great at what they do. The dinner buffet was really good with salads/ meat etc.
The other great option is happy hour cocktails, fantastic cocktails for buy one get one free between 4 - 6pm.
Overall the stay was fantastic Crown Beach is quiet, small and personal at a great location.

Kia Orana,

Thank you for your kind words about your recent stay at Crown Beach Resort & Spa.

We are pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay in our 2-Bedroom Garden Villa located by the main pool and set in stunning tropical gardens.

Our restaurants strive to provide quality cuisine using imported foods from New Zealand and Australia. Our free breakfast service includes a full continental buffet (fresh fruit, cereals, breads & spreads, yoghurt, wet bircher muesli, ham-salami-cheese board, muffins-croissants, tea-coffee & 6 types of fruit juices) and a cooked breakfast menu ensuring freshly-cooked hearty meals. We dont serve 'powdered milk' at our resort, but we use Fonterra (NZL) tetra-pak pasteurised milk imported in 1-litre packs. Fresh milk would be amazing - but the importation cost is prohibitive.

Windjammer Restaurant continues to dazzle our guests with its stunning haute cuisine prepared with care & love, coupled with its intimate service by candle-light.

Our world famous Island Nights feature a seafood inspired buffet supplemented by Rarotonga's best dance troupes performing top island cultural entertainment on Mon + Thu for only NZD55 pp.

Our island famous daily happy hour program where you 'buy 1, get 1 free' is a real winner with guests from all over the island sipping cocktails and watching daily glorious sunsets, just off the resorts' private beach!

All in all, our team of 85 enjoyed looking after you and we hope to see you again, soon.

Best wishes,

Rohan Ellis
