Me and my Dad stayed at the Manuina resort for a holiday. Lovely staff!!!! Easy to talk to and joke with, gave us insight on the island, useful tips on where not to take our washing and in the end even done it for us, changed our sheets/bedding/towels regularly, friendly conversations at the bar/breakfast/lunch and dinner with staff, nice tropical resort surrounded with beautiful frangipani tree's and very good food! Overall its the staff that made the resort a pleasure to stay at! The Kitchen and cleaning lady's are amazing :) Definitely need a pay rise lol the main rejason i'd return back to that resort!!

We were completely satisfied with our stay at Manuia Beach - nice rooms, good restaurant, relaxing pool and beautiful beach. The management and staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the Manager's Cocktail Party which was a great opportunity to meet the other guests - a great group from around the world (NZ, US, UK, Sweden, etc). Also enjoyed the South Pacific night. It's an easy drive (or bus ride) into town, and there are other restaurants within walking distance. The resort is very quiet and peaceful - the beach is empty and you can walk a long way in either direction without seeing anyone. We'd definitely stay here again.

We have just returned from Rarotonga & spent 3 nights at Manuia Beach Resort. This resort is fabulous, amazing, awesome!! Clean, fresh, fabulous staff, amazing beach, lovely pool, great restaurant & fabulous accommodation! Loved the outdoor shower! The location is great & the beach is amazing! We had the most wonderful stay & hated leaving to transfer to our next resort. Manuia Resort is highly recommended!!!

Room Tip: We had a garden view room, which was lovely & cheaper than beach front.

My wife and I had always while living in Britain, only dreamed of going on holiday to an island paradise destination but using New Zealand as a springboard, it was possible .We chose this resort as it was adults only, and only had a small amount of accomodation units. We had a Premium Garden Suite which when booking did not know how far away from the sea it would be. To our delight it was about a 2 minute saunter only! The rooms were very clean and housekeeping visited daily. We found from arrival all the way to departure that all the staff were very helpful and cheerful from reception to housekeeping. The location of the resort was just like the brochure (not always that way from experience) with the pool overlooking the beach as was the restaurant. The sand all round the living accomodation was raked dailyso always looked fresh and smooth.Water bowls at your accomodation to wash the sand off your feet was practical and the use of fresh local flowers was colourful and fun.You could not help but bring sand into your room but you did have a brush and dustpan to clear up when housekeeping was not in.On a Monday there was a meet the managers session with free punch and nibbles which was great. We went to the resorts Island night which only had 5 couples attend. I felt sorry for the people involved to have a small turnout but it was great to have it almost to yourselves. The start with coconut husking through to drinking and eating was educational and fun being very interactive. My wife was then involved in making a local flower head piece. We then had a couple doing local dancing in all the local outfits . We then had food which was more than plentiful followed by fire dancing. Overall a good activity and we had friends who went to another venue for an island evening which had over 80 people attend which they thought was great but was not so personal.
Thye cocktails from the bar were amazing - we tried them all at least twice (better during happy hour as only $10 each). The breakfast was great as you could have the usual fruit juice, cereals and toast, fruit and lovely light pancakes which set you up for the day (you could also order and pay for cooked breakfast). The food from the restaurant was good fare (not exceptional) but if you wanted to know what the dinner menu was you did not find out until about 4pm (although should have been 2pm) which could cause issues when planning your evening out after dinner (as some eateries you have to book)Dogs regularly played on the beach which was fun to watch - as we have had a dog in the past -all were no problems or aggresive. We also had a resident cat at the resort who was extremely friendly (even sat on my wifes lap) and wanted to get in our room and eat anything - not a problem for us as we have 5 cats. He soon went away if not getting love or food.
Overall even though there was not TV (which I missed for only the News) there was an advantage in that you could just relax and enjoy the views and Island time.

My then 'boyfriend' and I were in the Cook Islands celebrating our 5 year anniversay, we had the best time!! Everyone at the resort was so helpful, the cocktails and food were so tasty. We are now engaged and still recommend this resort to all our friends and family - hoping to return ina year or 2 :)
