Manuela and Marlo run a wonderful restaurant and bar. You will usually be able to get "Just Caught" grilled fish and a nice cold beer as well as the yummy baked goods of the day. The food is well prepared in a clean kitchen. It has good music and a neighborly feel. They do so much to help all the women and children of La Isla. Please support them by getting a great meal there.

We stayed right across the street from Los Cocos for 5 nights and ate there almost every day! It's a very cute, family run outdoor restaurant with very affordable prices. Marlon, the owner, was very nice and we enjoyed talking with him during our meals. His wife, Manuela, does the cooking and everything she made was delicious! We had very fresh fish, rice and beans, soup and pasta and lots of fresh fruit juices that were so refreshing and tasty! They also made us coconut bread and chocolate! We were very sad to leave!

We were staying close by, so after hearing good things about Los Cocos, we tried it out for dinner. We ordered chicken and pork with rice. Both dishes were simple local dishes, but used spices, which made it really tasty. I recommend the chicken. Vegetables were fresh and tasty. We also had natural fruit juices. The restaurant is located on the other side of the Santa Cruz beach. Approx 150m before the intersection where the road splits into Santa Cruiz and another village. It has nice thick wooden tables under a large thatched roof, a swing chair which gave the place a nice ambiance.

I believe I paid like $3-$4 USD for the meal. (local food prices). And I didn't have to wait long. The waiter was really nice, even gave us a plastic sheet he happened to have, when we were stranded in the rain.

We discovered this place on our first night on Ometepe, and ate there three out of our four nights on the island. It's a new business, in fact they only finished putting the palm roof on during our stay.

Powercuts are quite frequent on Ometepe, but during an extended blackout on our first night, various members of the family clamoured to provide torchlight for ourselves and the other diners so we could enjoy our evening unhindered by the darkness. They also continued to provide full and cheerful service throughout.

We highly recommend Los Cocos for its food, service (a little slower than we're used to in Europe, but we happily adjusted to the laid-back pace), cleanliness and value. At time of writing, they are open 09:00-21:00 every day, and they have vegetarian options in addition to meat options, plus desserts including chocolate brownie. They also have delicious home-made juices; their lemonade was all I could think about on the way down from Maderas.

We ordered a bunch of vegetable pizzas from Los Cocos and some fresh pineapple juice and everything was absolutely delicious! They were very accommodating for our order and the women who run the restaurant were very friendly, kind, and sat and talked with us for a while. Would definitely recommend!
