Reviewed August 28, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here on 24th august for one night in a family room, myself, other half, and two daughters.
First off, we requested an early check in and they obliged.
We got to hotel and were greeted by Jill and Ian. Ian who is very knowledgeable of the local area (and knows where the kid friendly pubs are) showed us to the "brown" room, this is massive, two full size single beds and a double bed and there was still room to swing more than one cat at the same time.
Room was very clean and well presented.
On our return that night, Jill was sorting out a cat fight that was going on in the kitchen, my kids loved it.
After a really good nights sleep, breakfast was plentiful and home made muffins and jams etc were lovely, full English was lovely too.
We requested a late check out and this was ok too.

Would we stay here again? Yes we would, and probably will.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. It's good to know what people remember from their stay, apart from cats fighting!

We always do our best to assist guests who require early arrivals and late departures but sometimes it just isn't possible.

We pride ourselves on our breakfasts and like to offer a selection to suit all the family.

We stopped over here before our early morning ferry in July. We had the family room which was very clean and spacious for our family of 4, it was a very warm evening but the room was cool and we all managed to sleep well. The owner was extremely hospitable and made us feel welcome, recommending somewhere to eat in the evening. The children enjoyed running around the gardens, we didn't get chance to sample the pool due to time constraints. Would definitely recommend this place and would stay again, very reasonably priced.

Thanks for reviewing Rolles Court. It's in a very quiet location so is ideal for a good night's sleep when you've got an early ferry. When the weather permits the garden is perfect for tiring over excited children. Maybe on a future visit you'll have more time to venture into the pool.

We stayed at Rolles Court by the end of July, and what a pleasant surprise... it was a lot more that we expected. Great place, the owners are lovely people. The property is beautiful, has a pool, and a garden. The landscape of the Whitfield town is amazing. The B&B is close to the White Cliff, Canterbury, Dover Palace; it's close to the town too (walking distance). Let me tell you about the breakfast... AWESOME!!!! Good food, a lot of choices, all homemade and organic, from the jams to the juices. We traveled with kids and they felt welcomed. I highly recommend this place to other travelers. Rooms were clean, bathroom very big, We loved it. If you want a cozy place in the countryside of England, with friendly people, and good food, close to all atractions of the area...Rolles Court is for you.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great.

Thank you so much for writing such a comprehensive review.

It's a shame you didn't have more time to explore the local area but maybe you will have the opportunity to visit Kent in the future.

We stopped at Rolles Court before an early morning sailing to France. My wife and daughter shared a family room. The welcome was very warm and the room was a very good size. The rooms were clean and the breakfast excellent. We had a very good stay and would recommend it to anyone.

This was a return visit to Ian and Jill and they made us very welcome. The room was large with an excellent bed and tea making facilities.

The breakfast is first class with plenty of home made produce on the table.

Not the easiest place to find first time but the hospitality, welcome and local knowledge is well worth it - all just a couple of miles from Dover.

We have just booked to return in October and are already looking forward to that trip.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. When you next visit you can sample a larger selection of jams made from our fruit crop. There are also new muffin recipes to try.

Rolles Court is in a very small village but once found I'm sure you'll agree it's worth it for the peaceful surroundings.

We booked Rolles Court using a recent voucher scheme run by a certain red top newspaper. We chose Rolles Court as we were looking for a quaint peaceful country retreat in a part of england that we hadn't really explored before, and didn't want to hand our money over to a huge multi-national hotel chain and become yet another anonymous customer.

Firstly, the proprietors Jill and Ian were very hospitable hosts. They had presented our spacious bedroom very well and all was extremely clean and tidy, and the interior of the room, and the house in general was full of original features and character. Their choice of mattress ensured a good nights sleep for us both too!

Jill's breakfasts were certainly something to get up for in the mornings, and Ian was a dab hand at pushing the plunger on the cafetiere for the lovely morning coffee. Even the cats tended to show up when we came down for breakfast, which was a welcome surprise, and just shows the high regard in which breakfast is held. The large selection of home made conserves were very tasty, which caused me to force more toast into my stomach than I normally would, especially after a fry up!

Both Ian and Jill were very knowledgeable on their surroundings and are well qualified to suggest places to visit, or offer additional information regarding places you state you are planning on visiting. Despite this, there are a multitude of leaflets available in the conservatory for perusal if need be.

Sadly, the weather was such that it we didn't get an opportunity to appreciate the large gardens or the pool, but these would be a welcome addition given the right circumstances.

All in all, if you're looking for a nice well kept family run bed and breakfast with considerate owners who look after their customers and seem keen to ensure they have an enjoyable stay, then I would thoroughly recommend this bed and breakfast.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a comprehensive review we really appreciate this.

The cafetiere 'plunging' has already been noted by a recent guest and Ian is thinking of putting it on Youtube! We are about to start on the new jam production as the strawberries and gooseberries are nearly ready for picking and this year there are greengages again.

We had our inspection last week and retained our 4* which made our efforts worthwhile as we work hard to keep the rooms up to a high standard of cleanliness and our mattresses were praised for their quality.

The pool should be up and running next week if the hotter weather arrives and the charis will be out in all the suntrap areas of the garden.

Thanks again.

Stayed at Rolles Court on 13 April 2013 as I was attending a function at the Ramada at Whitfield. A wild, wet and stormy night. Jill and Ian were the perfect hosts. Excellent room and breakfast. Ian even insisted on running me to and back from the Ramada (the return after Midnight) saving me £10 each way on taxi fares. Service does not come better than that and at the third of the price the Ramada wanted for a room for the night. I cannot recommend this B&B highly enough.

Room Tip: The only reason the sleep quality was below excellent was due to the wind and driving rain crashing...

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. It was a shame that you had such bad weather when you stayed as it is now 'slowly' improving and on good days is so pleasant in the garden with the constant bird song as background noise.
