We booked this vineyard visit and lunch after reading good reviews on trip advisor. We were a group of 12 for the tour and lunch. Joe was extremely interesting explaining how the business works and other tales of local vineyards. Of course, the wine sampling was included and very welcome.. Then, in for an excellent lunch cooked by Liz. We all sat at one large table and our fellow guests were brilliant company. Lots of wine and great conversation later - we didn't want to leave!!
A taxi from Carcassonne is easy and very necessary - don't consider driving if you enjoy a glass, or several, of their excellent wine.
We will return to Carcassonne and will definitely go visit Joe and Liz - lovely people. Thanks for a great afternoon...

A really great evening, an experience not just a meal. We booked for a wine tasting as well as dinner and thought it was really great value. A short distance for anyone staying in Carcassonne, less than 20 euros in a cab that took around 15 minutes to get there. We sampled various different wines and was taken on a tour of the vineyards by Joe which was really interesting and informative in a relaxed and fun manner. The meal was very well done, tasty home cooked food, French with an asian twist, all done by Liz. Great company with other guests, it felt like you were having dinner with friends not strangers. I couldn't praise this place more. I went there based on reviews here and hope that others do the same. An experience not to be missed!!

I visited O'Vineyards with my sister for a winery tour and dinner and we had a really fabulous evening that completely exceeded our expectations. Joe and Liz live in a beautiful spot in the middle of rolling vineyards and they welcomed us into their home like old friends. The evening started with a glass of wine (of course!) followed by a really interesting, really educational walk around the vineyard and winery. We are not wine experts (just enthusiasts) and it was fascinating to be talked through the whole wine process end-to-end. Joe was very patient answering our questions and we tasted all the different wines he produces at different stages of maturity. Worth travelling out to the vineyard for this alone.

Afterwards we headed back into the house for a delicious dinner cooked by Liz. Liz is a really talented chef and clearly puts great care and attention into her food - and achieves fantastic results. Everyone sits round the dining table together and it feels like a big family occasion, just with a whole range of free flowing wines and wonderful homecooked food. We were actually at the table for nearly four hours, which is a really long time to spend over dinner, but the evening felt like it passed in a flash of good conversation and great wine. I'm a vegetarian and Liz was completely accommodating in catering to my dietry requirements (make sure you declare any special needs well in advance though as Liz buys all her ingredients fresh from the local market earlier that day).

All in all, the evening has been the highlight of our trip to the region and we would really recommend it to anyone with an interest in good wine and good food. Or even anyone who just wants to get out of the town and spend several hours in the beautiful French countryside with welcoming and friendly hosts.

The winery is about a 16 euro taxi ride from Carcassonne centre and well worth the drive.

Lovely selection of starters, followed by a beautifully cooked veal dish. Tastes and textures were tantalising. Followed by an excellent selection of cheeses and a chocolate and strawberry dessert. All accompanied by O'Vineyard's wonderful wines.

I really don't understand some of the previous reviews and at first thought we had went somewhere different.
Joe certainly is a very engaging character and his wines are in fact extremely good for the region and are a real pleasure to enjoy.
However, now this is where it all changes. Our party of 6 had read many of the reviews and were really looking forward to a gourmet treat but I'm afraid that neither the quality of the food nor the presentation of the dishes lived up to any reasonably expectation.
None of the dishes were individually served up but rather dumped on a serving plate in the middle of the table and severely rationed to the point of a single item each!! We even had to retain our plate, knife and fork for the entire meal (guess it saves with washing up!).The quality of the main course stank of a tight fisted attempt to maximise profits at the expense of the guests. I certainly don't consider sausage and mash followed by a small shovel of cheesy lamb gratin (with little lamb) a meal worthy of our praise.
Starter 1 : 1 and a half small (1"diameter) goats cheese pastry
Starter 2: |A single quarter piece of two inch long courgette wrapped in a pastry
Starter 3: Salad with a few bits of sprinkled octopus and a dim sum wrap of some description
Main 1: Merguez Sausage and mash (suspect mash was powdered?)
Main 2: Sloppy lamb gratin
Cheese Course: ok but limited quantity and stale bread
Desert: Small almond tart and ice-cream
Coffee outside in the cold so a speedy exit was desirable.

As a final summary I can only consider that the quality of the ingredients left a little to be desired and I would have preferred to have been served with a quality piece of meat
