“Wonder food and wine !!!”
Reviewed June 15, 2013

Visited Joe & Liz recently for an evening meal whilst on a trip to Carcassonne. The evening totally made our holiday, and we also got to meet a really interesting movie film editor and stuntman extraordinaire. Completely changed our opinion of French red wine. Please go !!!

“Trah Lah Lah!”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

This was the first wine we tasted from Domaine O'vineyards. This was back in November last year when we had chosen a bottle of Trah Lah Lah from Naked Wines, as one of their Wine Angels. We were so impressed with the wine that we investigated the vineyard and were delighted to fine that it was only a few hours drive from our French home. Had to visit! We took advantage of the inclusive tour, wine blending, gourmet meal - with many different wines - and B & B. Joe and Liz were excellent hosts and and so hospitable. So was Muse, when you got to know her. Joe's enthusiasm and knowledge of his vines and wines was so rewarding. Liz's food and meal was excellent. This was all rounded off with the enjoyment of the wines accompanying the meal. They were superb. :-) The B & B, itself, was well appointed and comfortable, filled with lovely antiques and artwork. Would recommend both a stay here, but especially the wines.

“Looking forward to returning”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

Our visit to O'Vineyard, Carcassonne, started back in the UK in June 2012 in Cambridge when we attended a Naked Wine tasting event. We were already fans of the wine produced by O'Vineyard having received some of their ware in a "taster" case when we first joined Naked Wines as Angels in late 2011 - their O'Syrah is to die for - so the chance to meet Ryan O'Connell on UK soil, to chat about the wines was taken.
Ryan was so enthusiastic about the wines and the Languedoc area in which they are produced, especially when we told him we were staying in Bezier on holiday in August.
A quick exchange of emails before setting off for our holidays and a visit to the vineyards was very much on top of our "to do list" as part of a day trip to Carcassonne.
Carcassonne is a wonderful day out and in itself well worth the 3 hour round trip by car from Bezier but what made the day perfect was our visit to O'Vineyard and the welcome afforded to us by Joe & Liz (Ryan was off on his travels again).
Alongside a small number of other visitors, some of whom were staying at the B&B, we enjoyed a tour of the property, which Joe conducted with such charm and enthusiasm for the subject of winemaking, imparting his years of knowledge and experience, alongside Muse his trusted sidekick (a very friendly dog).
Touring the vineyard and sampling some of the wines direct from the barrel and in one case direct from the stainless steel vat was a real treat for both myself and my wife as well as seeing the art of wine making first hand.
Returning to the house we partook of some delicious "hors d'oeuvres" prepared by Liz in the kitchen to partake of some more stunning wines (at this point I have to admit to the first mistake of the day which was to be the designated driver). The second mistake was not to have opted for the 5 course gourmet dinner option, which our fellow visitors had the foresight to book, especially given the wonderful smells drifting through from the kitchen.
Before departing, guests who had booked into stay in the B&B rooms kindly allowed us to see their rooms, which were more "Boutique Hotel" than B&B making leaving for the trip home even harder.
We are returning to Languedoc again this year and have promised ourselves to return to O'Vineyards and not miss out on the fun - maybe we will see Ryan as well this year.
In the meantime, we continue to enjoy the wine, including a wine called OMG, the blend we tasted direct from the tank, which we intend to stock up on again as we are nearly out!

“A Winery, food and B&B”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

You visit the Winery and after that you have a meal. Or you can stay in the B&B. But it is not a restaurant! It is a dinner within a family setting in a very impressive winery. The O'Vineyards wines range all from good to very good to excellent. One of our party who has before has the good fortune to drink a Romanee Conti wine stated that one particular wine of OVineyards was more enjoyable! The wines are served by Joe - who is the producer as well as a most welcoming host.

The food is all prepared by Liz, the hostess, and freshly. Which may lead to a little wait before being called to the table, but this leaves time to savour the wines and meet the other guests.

All the food we have (and this is the second time I have been there) was a wonderful fusion of East and West. Liz made extra effort to prepare fish for me (and one other guest) as I do not eat meat. Everything was very good.

I am looking forward to repeating this experience in the future, and would recommend this place to anyone wishing a slightly different experience to a normal restaurant dining. You won't regret it.

“A Disneyland for Adults”
Reviewed May 11, 2013

I just spent two nights at this incredible B&B wine estate. The owners are great hosts who cater to your desires in regards to the wine and foods you are served. Both oenophiles and gourmets will be blown away by this experience. The quality of the wine is amazing and I am sure will capture a 95 or more on the Parker scale. Their whole approach to wine making is unique and they don't take themselves too seriously. I will return in the future with other friends who also love great food and wine.
