“Wonderful!!!”
Reviewed November 13, 2013

We visited here July 2013, this place is just awesome! The meals that Maureen made us were so fantastic, she is an awesome cook and we enjoyed the meal while enjoying the company of fellow travelers from all around the world. This is what made the experience so jaw dropping amazing! Jon and Maureen bent over backwards to make sure we were happy and it was so enjoyable and I so much appreciated the help they gave us LOVED THEM!!!

Room Tip: We enjoyed the cottage, you have a refrigerator, stove etc. GREAT!

I'd found Beau Sejour on Trip Advisor and was so glad we did! Once we found it, in the tiny village of Naujan et Postiac, we dropped into the helpful hands of Maureen and Jon. I've not stayed anywhere when we've had such service. Maureen directed us towards family-owned wineries in the area and made our reservations for the visits (you don't usually just drop in). She had restaurant and other traveling advice, and genuinely wanted our time to be well spent. Maureen even took care of washing and drying a pair of my husband's pants I doused with wine one lunch-time.
She followed up with us prior to our visit mentioning others had booked dinner one night. We took her up on it, and it was delicious and fun to share around the table of other guests. The buffet breakfast is very generous, and the afternoon tea or wine capped off many a day. We'd brought back some wine and cheese for a light dinner and that was no problem to set up in the dining room. Did I mention it was next to the fireside?
It was more like staying with relatives than an impersonal B & B.
BTW, we had the ground floor room and it was huge, ditto for the bathroom. Super comfortable.

Room Tip: The website has good photos of each room and it was certainly accurate for our room.

My wife and I stayed at the Beau Sejour while we were on a trip to vineyards in the Bordeaux region.

Maureen and John wee very helpful organising trips for us and it all worked out well. One very nice benefit was having breakfast around a big table with other guests from France, Spain, Argentina, USA and swapping stories / getting advice about the previous days visits as everybody was down there wine tasting.

My husband and I recently returned from a trip in the Bordeaux and St. Emilion region. We came across Beau Sejour and booked a room for two nights. The only regret we have is that we did not have a longer vacation so that we can extend our stay with Maureen and Jon. Beau Sejour is an absolutely charming place, beautifully and tastefully decorated. Our hosts made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Their attention to details was evident from the table settings, to room decor, and the interest that they took in our comfort. Maureen cooked a lovely meal on Friday night and it felt as if we were part of the family. The afternoon teas and wines were inviting, and Maureen's scones were delicious. They also arranged a visit at a local winery, which was a hit with my husband. We look forward to returning, and certainly recommending Beau Sejour to our friends.

My husband and I have just returned from our first trip to France. Although hard to believe I would have to say that our 5 day stay at Beau Sejour was the highlight of our trip. We had hired a car and while at Beau Sejour travelled over 600 kilometres from St Emilion to the Medoc to Bordeaux enjoying the fabulous scenery, excellent restaurants, visiting exceptional vineyards and all thanks to Maureen & Jon's knowledge, expertise and caring, thoughtful attitude.
Maureen and Jon went out of their way to ensure that our stay with them was exceptional.
Their accommodation is spacious, exceptionally clean, quiet and great value for money.
I only hope that we can return and they have rooms available for us!

I've so far only ever used TripAdvisor to record moans and grumbles or bad experiences at hotels and guesthouses so I'm taking great pleasure in writing a review which is full of praise!

Our recent 3 night stay at Beau Sejour was wonderful. From the wine and cake afternoon teas, to the warm welcome we received from the second we arrived, every detail was catered for. Maureen and Jon were excellent hosts and we were really struck by their passion for the local area and knowledge of the region. Their tips on places to eat and things to do really made our trip and we couldn't have got by without all their meticulous driving directions!

The rooms are traditional and lovely (we were lucky to stay in 2 different ones) with period features and antique furniture and nice touches like bath robes and luxury soap. We also loved the beautiful garden. The location is peaceful and rural and a car is essential - it felt so relaxing to be out in the countryside.

We enjoyed a fantastic home-cooked dinner and aperitif on one of the nights we were there, with a lovely bottle of local wine, and had a brilliant time chatting to our fellow guests and to our hosts. A real highlight. We also loved their restaurant recommendations (which were then booked for us) and the unique wine tasting which they arranged. Maureen even ensured we had provisions for our long train journey home!

Before arriving at Beau Sejour we had been nervous about staying at a B&B and wondered if we would have enough "personal space". It's a further testament to Jon and Maureen's hosting skills that they strike exactly the right balance in this regard - always on hand to offer advice, to chat and to help, but also discrete and allowing guests to mingle with others, or to have some quiet time. We really enjoyed talking to them both about their house, the local wine, and the stunning local area.

Thanks both for a fantastic stay.

Beau Sejour is the perfect jumping off place for vacationing in France...so many vineyards to explore, excellent restaurants, and most of all... kind people. Easy to reach from Bordeaux airport. We stayed 4 days...next time it would be a week for sure.
