We were attending a function in Enniskillen which is over 100 miles from our home and so decided to stay overnight in the area.

We were disappointed with this hotel. In our opinion, it’s hard to understand why this hotel has four stars.

We had lunch in the Watergate Lounge (bar). The service was poor and the food was just adequate. I had salmon, which lacked seasoning and was very basic. The bar was busy, grubby and dingy.

We booked a lake view room. It was basic and needed both a good clean and a thorough refurbishment. It simply felt threadbare. At £142.50 for the night, the room wasn’t cheap. We don’t mind paying for good quality; this certainly wasn’t in that category.

The most annoying occurrence was at breakfast. We had to be away early for another commitment about 110 miles away. Breakfast is ostensibly served from 0730. That suited us well because we needed to be way by 0815. We arrived in the restaurant at 0735 and were met by a young waitress. There were no other guests in the restaurant and the young waitress proceeded to shout, “there is two peoples here already!”. We were then told to help ourselves to the cold buffet and someone would take our order for cooked breakfast. We didn’t want the cold buffet! We sat for twenty minutes whilst two waitresses proceeded to set up tables. After twenty minutes of being completely ignored, we got up and left the table. No tea, no breakfast, no civility! One waitress, on seeing us leave, said “don’t worry!”. I thought that was just a bizarre comment.

My wife complained when checking out and was told, ‘oh sorry’. That was it! Never again! There followed a nice 110 mile journey on empty stomachs!

Have stayed in this hotel quite a number of times over the last few years. Lovely hotel, rooms and grounds. But this time I was disappointed in that there was a lack of heat in the main reception lounge. Had to ask several times for heat to be put on - only to be told it was working earlier and that maybe someone had turned it off. After several goes to get it going they said it would be sorted by the next day. However this didnt happen and several people remarked how cold it was.
Hotel may be cutting back on heat to save money.
Hotel leisure centre also lacked heat and the jaccuzi was cold.

My husband and I spent a lovely weekend in this hotel earlier this month.

We booked a Lake View Room and the view was well worth the extra.

The hotel was busy with lots of guests, especially young families, and there were wedding receptions on the Fri and Sat. However even though the hotel was busy the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, and the wedding receptions did not bother us at all.

On the Sat evening we dined in the hotel restaurant and it was really lovely. Service was first class.

Overall a lovely weekend and a lovely hotel to stay in!

Just attended a wedding reception at this hotel and as it is about 100 miles from our home and we have 2 small children we decided we needed to stay overnight. Overall the experience was not a pleasent one.
Firstly my wife asked waiting staff who were serving supper at the wedding reception could they give us some milk for babies bottles. The answer was a straight no from 2 staff who said that wasn't there job.
On a similar note the next morning at breakfast my wife asked could they fill the babies bottles, this time they did but the girl had to check to see how much extra to charge us. As it turned out they didn't.
You have access to the pool as a guest supposedly free of charge but you have to pay £1 for a bathing hat for everyone unless you bring yor own.
Not what i expect when i'm paying £135 for one night.
I had intended to complain at checkout when you are normally asked if you enjoyed your stay, but as the receptionist barely spoke 2 sentences to me i didn't bother.
Overall the demeanor of the staff was unhelpful and i definitely won't be back.

This is not a 4 star hotel. Dont think they have cleaners. The amount of dust in the rooms and bar/restaurant defies belief. I was able to write in the dust in the bar.
/restaurant!!! Chef was too busy and we were told we had to wait 20 mins before we could even order dinner. Couldnt have the empty table because that belonged to the Boss who didnt actually leave the bar all night!!! By the time the food arrived we were ready to go the sleep. The shower leaves a lot to be desired. You have to wait at least 5 mins before the water heats up. Dont bother paying extra for a Lake View unless you are 6 ft tall!!

Definitely will not stay again. Have read other reviews about friendly staff, my experience was that they had no idea how to smile!! This hotel is not for me.
