Haven't been to stay here for a couple of years and the hotel has been tastefully refurbished (in traditional style) & returned to its former grandeur. We were given a complimentary upgrade to a junior suite which was lovely. It was much appreciated as unexpectedly we had to cancel the first day of our stay so it was a lovely surprise. The room overlooked the lake with floor to ceiling windows so we enjoyed watching the sunset on day one & the snow on day two. It also had a separate shower which is always preferable to one over the bath and surprisingly a TV in the bathroom. The bed was large & very comfortable & the robes & slippers are always useful.

The food in the Belleek restaurant was good but not just as tasty as I remembered & the choice is limited - not ideal if you are a fussy eater - luckily we are not. We enjoyed the breakfast although the eggs benedict was much nicer than the full Irish breakfast. The omelette seemed to be popular with other guests. I was a little concerned by a piece of carpet beside the buffet table which seemed to stick up as I tripped over it twice & people tend to be looking at the buffet more than where they are walking.

The following evening we ate in the bistro which was nice and less expensive. The bistro was quite cold as was the cellar bar but this may have been due to the lack of customers - being midweek. It is nice to have an alternative eating option in the evening without leaving the hotel as it is approximately 6 miles to Enniskillen. There is a B&B about a mile away (the Cedars) which also has a good restaurant.

It was great to have the leisure facilities and we managed to use the fitness room and the pool (swimming caps compulsory), sauna, steam room & both indoor & outdoor jacuzzi during our stay. We would have made better use of them had we been able to stay the extra day. The spa did not seem to be open.

The staff were all friendly & helpful & it was a thoroughly enjoyable stay. We will definitely return.

Room Tip: Junior suite with lake view is a lovely option.

We had originally booked an overnight stay because of business in the area. We arrived only having time to check in and planned to leave early the next day. The place looked so good we changed our plans and stayed on. The hotel has a beautifully fresh old charm about it, the porters orientation as he takes you to your room is novel and delightful. While the room we were in and the breakfasts were excellent the true charm of the hotel were the public areas like the cocktail bar, redidents lounge and drawing room where the day could be well spent just reading dozing or just talking. Staff exceptionally friendly.

Super hosts, wonderful bedrooms, sumptuous and so comfortable. Spacious and lovely at the end of a long day. Best breakfast out of many B&B's across Ireland. Tea, coffee and yummy cakes available downstairs in the lounge.

Room Tip: We were in a room away from the road which was nice and quiet.

Recently stayed here in a junior suite for a birthday treat,. The room was lovely ,the weather was really snowy which just made looking out the floor to ceiling window over the lake and the snow covered hills in the distance all the nicer. The room itself was really well appointed with robes and slippers and the bathroom was lovely , the only negative was the bath was quite small although there was a tv built into the bathroom wall.
What really stood out about the Manor House was the relaxed atmosphere and the staff who were really helpful .The restaurant is in a beautiful room with nice old corniced ceilings and the restaurant manager really runs a tight ship with service levels were really high .He was really friendly and having spoken to him found out that he had worked for one of the luxury cruise lines for many years (obviously where he learnt to run a tight ship). He could really teach some other establishments in Northern Ireland a thing or two about customer service. The food was fantastic and part of the one night deal.
We did have a drink in the downstairs bar after dinner which didn't have such a great atmosphere and the noise from the band playing permeated through to the above lounges.
Overall , i would recommend this hotel which is in a beautiful setting and in particular a junior suite , worth it for the view.

This literally was a last minute Break as we only booked on the day. We visited first weekend in April and had a lovely time. We opted for a Junior suite for a bit of comfort and a fabulous view of the lough. Our Package included dinner in the Beautiful Award winning Restaurant and although we haven't simple tastes by any means we much preferred the Cellar Room Menu.

The warm chicken salad was to die for, so much so that i had it again the second night, it had an unexpcted little chilli kick and lovely dressing and very very filling. The Medallions of Beef and Fish and chips were delicious. The Beef melted in the mouth and the batter of the fish was light and crisp and no grease at all. Although the wine we wanted wasn't listed on the Menu, one was brought from the other Restaurant. The staff are lovely ad nothing is too much trouble. It was as lovely weekend so we are able to take the Lady of Lake trip around some of lough Erne and at only £10 per Adult I recommend this. The room was very warm as well but easy adjusted. A welcome change as many rooms turn the heat off during the day. Also had a cocktail. The only real noise was from the wedding party who must have been queueing for the evening entertainment and soon passed. The grounds are beautiful too. A favourite place of mine to stay

Room Tip: Get a lough / lake view room the view is well worth it.

Where to start?
Price:
Booked through LateRooms 2 rooms x 2 nights at £149 per night B&B. Needed twin rooms which were basic 3' wide beds more suited to a school. The price and the rooms were a mismatch which we raised with the duty manager. He agreed with our opinion, confirmed that in fact we were paying more than the rack room rate (subsequently denied, even though 4 of us were listening to him) and he agreed to try and do something the next day when the manager was there too. He avoided us the next day and eventually said he could do nothing as we had used laterooms and they had charged us. When I pointed out we had not paid anything to laterooms and the full payment would be made to the hotel he then said that when we paid the hotel they would have to pay laterooms. This is of course contrary to what laterooms website says. I have made a complaint to laterooms but have not had a proper response. In summary the position according to the hotel is that the rates are more competitive on their own website. Only laterooms and booking.com quote for this hotel and they are essentially the same company so there are no competitive rates and the staff appear not to know how they arrive at their prices. Avoid twin rooms as they are on the top of the hotel dark and basic and subject to sharing by loud, drunken wedding guests who run around the corridors until 5 30 am.
Service:
Although the hotel and the marina offer deals including use of each others facilities, e.g. inclusive golf deals at the hotel, the staff know nothing about the golf course, not even if it is a par 3 course or whatever.

Spa has a lovely pool but no mention is made that you cannot use it without a swim hat at a cost of £2 which is not refundable i.e. £8 for a family of 4.

Easter Monday was the coldest for many years yet the heating was off in all the common rooms and no fires were lit even up to midday. The room heating was also off but was turned on on our floor when I complained.

Breakfast service is very slow with only one designated order taker for tea/coffee/toast and cooked breakfast. Tea etc can take more than 15 mins to arrive the rest is much longer.

Scrambled eggs were runny and anaemic, simply not cooked correctly at the first or second attempt. I declined a third effort.

Lunch was chaotic.4 sandwiches, 4 teas and 2 scones are hardly challenging. We were still waiting after 25 minutes. Two sandwiches initially appeared and 10 mins later the other two arrived after we sent a reminder to the kitchen. We had to ask for our tea 3 times before it was served. The scones got totally lost and we asked the waiter, waitress and duty manager where they where before they eventually arrived, with the waiter expressing surprise that the order he had taken had not been completed.

Dinner in the Bistro, or not as it turned out, was the crowning finish for this disfunctional hotel.
A table was booked through reception the day before for 7 30 pm. We arrived at 7 20 and were told it was not ready yet and to wait in the Bar. We did. By 7 45 no one had spoken to us about our table or the clear delay. I enquired and was told desserts had just been served and it would be another 20 mins. I told the manager I was not impressed. At 8 pm my husband spoke to a waitress who said she was setting up a table but not for us as it turned out, although she failed to mention that. At 8 10 a manager arrived and said she would investigate, she came back and apologised - the first one we received in 50 mins. We complained about being ignored and not even being offered a complimentary drink at least, she said she would sort that out and we got a free drink at that point. We offered to sit in the restaurant upstairs but we wanted bistro food. She went to check if there was a table and came back to say the restaurant manager would not give us a table there unless we ate of his menu, which was the same as the night before and for which we had paid the best part of £200 for food and drink. We were hotel guests not walkins yet we were not given priority. We suggested we would sit in the bar and there was a discussion about which table and eventually got seated. At this point the manager said the meal would be free as we had been messed about so much and quite right too. Her explantion for the delay was that there was a staffing issue about getting ppl seated in the restaurant and there had been a knock on through the evening, the barman supported her in this. This was denied by the duty manager who said that was not right. Ppl had sat longer at our table and he could not ask them to move - apparently he had never heard of managed table rotation. I suspect the booking was not put through from reception but no one said that. We eventually were seated in the bar by 8 50 pm and the food arrived at 9 25 pm for a table booked for 7 30 pm. All suggestions for solutions came from us, they appeared unable to resolve the problem.
Eventually the duty manager offered to invite us all back for the same deal i.e. 2 rooms for 2 nights for free as the service we had received had not been acceptable, we are to phone him when we want to take up the offer. Whilst the gesture is appreciated it is not enough. This was a moment in time for us as a family. My adult son and daughter live in England and Scotland and are infrequently available together for a break outside Christmas. This was a unique opportunity for us to be together in a luxury place and relax, instead we were slighted, ignored and overcharged and spent our time talking about or to hotel staff about poor service. It is hard to forgive and impossible to compensate. There are clear staffing issues here over and above a bad meal or inefficient individual, that is not over ridden by a lovely buiding and setting.

Dear cassybee,

I note that you posted your views before this matter was resolved. The rates quoted and paid for with Laterooms were not above or standard rack rate prices. The dates on which you chose to stay were over the Easter Holiday period when prices would normally be at the rates offered. You accepted the rates as were published with Laterooms. The Hotel offers various rates throughout the year, subject to demand and availability.

In respect of the heating, as you said it was an exceptional cold period. Additional heat was provided and I note that this was done for you when requested.

I am sorry that you encountered delays in the Bistro. Unfortunately the turnover of tables was not as quick as we had anticipated and with it being the Easter Holidays alternatives were not readily available. My manager did speak to you on several occasions to keep you informed and i can assure you that this was not due to staffing issues.

In respect of information on the golf course I will ensure that the receptionists are briefed further. Hats are required in the swimming pool which is not uncommon for private pools.

I have tried to contact you again recently and would be happy to discuss further should you wish.

Beautiful hotel. Excellent staff and food! The views are just wonderful. Ask when booking can you have a view of the lake! Plenty to do. Swimming, gym, games room etc., The bedrooms are lovely. Though the mattress could have been better. Also some herbal teas in the bedroom would have been great! The grounds are excellent. Really it is a lovely place to stay. Very near Enniskillen. It is not too far from Belleek Pottery either. Which is worth a visit. Book it you will love it! There are self contained cottages attached to the hotel which might be good for families. There is golf, pitch and putt and sailing activities here also. Enjoy!

Room Tip: Ask for Lakeside view.
