“It was alright...”

The first in the list on our vacation itinerary is CWC. Coming from Pili Airport, their shuttle bus picked us up. This is an added service for their guests. I originally reserved a Tiki hut because we will be staying overnight only. We were leaving for Caramoan the following day. The Tiki hut is too basic for a party of 3 thus we upgraded to a cabana. Check in was very quick. They require a Php500 deposit which is refundable. The cabana was spacious and we have our own bathroom with hot and cold shower. Downside is, the towels are smelly as an old dog who haven't had a bath for months. Good thing i brought our own towel. One queen size bed, 2 pillows, one soap and shampoo all for Php1,800.
Anyway we went to the place not for the bed but for the activities they offer. The complex has a splendid view of Mt Isarog. I wanted to try wakeboarding but it made my knees buckle just with the sight of the moving rope, turning round the lagoon. I was convincing my hubby and son to try but they too refused. We ended up in the pool. It was really alright. Ambiance was really sporty and foreigners are really flocking the complex because of the activities.
As to their food, their authentic Bicolano pizza is the best. As in the best. If i will have to go back there, I can survive eating the same food for days. We also tried the Sinibid na Tilapia. It was fried tilapia with coconut milk and lots of chilis. Heavenly!
Try also their pork barbecue. Smelling the smoke from their pool area made my mouth water.
Will i go back to the complex? Yes for the amenities. Will i stay there again. Maybe. Will try their container lodging next time.
Cam sun, Cam sand, Cam Sur!

Room Tip: Choose a room near the activity area. Walking from the cabanas is good for the health but you're...

The container van is a bit old with lots of problems (door lock, towel dirty etc)...but we don't really care maybe because we went there to experience the wake board itself and not to experience a first class hotel. But anyway, we wonder if the management tried to fix problems like this...but the people around were all sweet and accommodating especially those in the CWC complex...the food was great, we ate there A LOT! at an affordable price...the pool is great and we learned and enjoyed the wake-boarding for beginners...we want to visit the place again, hope they would fix those broken doors of the containers!

Room Tip: Container Vans are close to the wakepark...easy to walk

It was a perfect fun activity for friends (and family). Your muscles will definitely sore after this activity but you'll definitely swear to come back again cause you had so much fun trying to finish (at least) a round of kneeboarding/wakeboarding without doing the face planting in the water.

If you're a first-timer like me, you might want to try their kneeboarding first then proceed to the beginners lake to learn the basics of wakeboarding. The trainers are very patient and fun to be with.

Food and drinks are pricey inside the complex, so bring your own food and drink. Not sure if there's a corkage fee, though.

One improvement that I want to take place was to add a sort of mechanism to help guests, like me who frequently fall in the water before finishing a round, lessen the burden of carrying the kneeboard (much heavier than the wakeboard) back to the start lane. Travelling from the point where I fell (half way, most of the time) to the start lane was pretty much time consuming.

Many of the reports about CWC are negative, so expectations were low for our visit. We felt our stay was satisfactory and better than low expectations we had formed. We stayed 2 nights and mountain biked as our recreational activity. We did not therefore make any use of the water facilities.

Our room -- #48C -- was a little 4 meter by 4 meter plus bath area standalone cabin set amidst a flat grassy plain. It was furnished with a queen bed, TV on a plastic stand, DVD player, and single night stand. The floor was vinyl. The rest of the accommodations presented themselves with numerous maintenance opportunities. There were two large windows with blinds that didn’t work [stuck in closed position]. The vaulted ceiling was water stained and probably laden with dark mold. The front door was made of bamboo and had difficulty locking. Even when locked, a moderate tug would surely have given anyone access to the unit. The front screen door was off its track. While maintenance may have been lacking, the cleaning was good. The floors were clean. There was neither dust nor insects. The bathroom was clean and absent any signs of mold. In fact, the bathroom was nicely done with large sink and vanity, soap and shampoo, and nice fluffy towels.

Our room did not receive daily maid service. And there was no bottled water in the room. The property advertises internet, however we had to go outside and walk around to find a strong enough signal.

There is a cantina at the water complex where guests can order dinner and breakfast. The menu is basic, and the food was OK. The cantina was clean, English was no problem, and prices were cheap. Our dinners with drinks ran between $10 and $15. Breakfast was an unremarkable offering of American eggs and omelets as well as local dishes. Leave plenty of time for breakfast as the kitchen was rather slow. Also check breakfast hours as they do not open very early.

Since its a manmade lake do not expect it to be clean. The trailer we stated in was quite comfy and big enough for a family of 6 ( 4 kids). AC works good but no phone so youll be playing hide and seek with the crew who were not visible at night. If you really want adventure then pay for a day tour to caramoan islands.

We enjoyed our stay here. We stayed in one of their Cabanas. The room is cozy with basic amenities such as A/C, cable TV, phone, toiletries and hot and cold shower. Towels need to be requested though. It would be better if they can automatically provide towels so that it won't be inconvenient for guests to call housekeeping to request for one. The resort also charge stay-in guests for the use of the swimming pool. Too bad!

The place seems to lack sign boards and directions. For first time guests who will be staying in, they will certainly be confused as to where the hotel reception is. Upon entering the resort, we saw a reception area but it was only for people who will be availing of wake boarding activities. When I asked, we were pointed to a place a little bit far from the CWC entrance. Since we checked in very late in the afternoon, trying to find the reception is such a hassle. It took us about 10 minutes to walk from the CWC entrance to the hotel reception area. Apart from that, the receptionist is not very friendly and seems to lack customer service manners. The rest of the staff (airport driver, restaurant servers, wakeboard operator and assistants) were all friendly and helpful and accommodating. They deserve a bonus for their superb customer service skills!

The Clubhouse Restaurant is quite good. Although the food is tasty and the price is quite reasonable, almost one fourth of the menu are not available which adds up to our disappointment. Also, they do not serve house/service water to all diners. I guess it's their way of generating more income.

Despite all these, we enjoyed our stay here. We had fun in wake boarding and the wake boarding staff were all friendly and helpful which more than compensates the lack of warm welcome we experienced upon check-in. Overall, we had fun and we went home happy and we will definitely be back.
