I used to fly with Aeroflot Russian airlines. The flight to Istanbul was overbooked and they put me with a friend into this bloody and terrible hotel to stay over night till the next flight. It is situated 500 metres away from the Sheremet'evo terminal F and about 1, 5 km from D. Firstly we wait the free hotel transfer during and hour, which should be provided two times per hour during night time. Eventually I called to the gotel and in 15 minutes the bus come to pick us up.

The manager on duty was extremely unfriendly. It took him about 20 minutes to check us in. The allocated room on the 3rd floor was very old and dirty, even without any soap and shampoo. The linens were very old with spots and grayish undertone. It was nice inside the room because of high way to the airport. We did not sleep at all. There were variety of meal at breakfast but it was overtired, overcooked or misscooked. The ask restaurant staff what is going in this restaurant hotel and they told that here is working the chief who is stealing good ingredients and product during last 10 years and use very bad products for the meal. it Is Russia and it is still full of corruption even in the branded hotels like Novotel.

They ask us if we could write and complane to the Accore hotel headquarter and tell them about the situation at this hotel...

I would never recommend you to stay at this Sheremetevo airport hotel. It is not real Novotel. It is kind of country-side Russia motel.

I have stayed at this hotel on at least 1/2 dozen different times the night before I leave Moscow. The hotel is great for this, but would not be if you wanted to go to the citey center. The hotel is within walking distance of Sheremtyevo-2. The staff has always been great there. The food is not very good at the hotel, except for the breakfeast buffet, which is great.

Very expensive hotel, which would most probably not be a good solution for private traveller. However, great service and great location for those who travel through Moscow Sheremetyevo airport. I recommend to visit their bar at first level. Free shuttle to/from airport and even to the city center. The hotel is good to relax befor or after the flight.

Feel good about being watched all the time? Enjoy sealed windows so that you may not get fresh air? Like locked doors so you're trapped in case of fire? Fancy the smell of cigarettes? Don't say no to a breakfast consisting of one yoghurt and one toast? Have some extra 150US$ to spend? Well the Novotel Sheremetyevo is the hotel for you.
Note: This is a review of the transfer part, where you don't have to have a visa for Russia. The rest of the hotel, which seemed nice when the security staff transported us to our locked breakfast room seemed to look nice, but we never made it into that part.

I have stayed at this hotel through necessity a few times now. Yes, it is very expensive for what you get but they have kinda got you really as there is no real alternative. Main issue to be aware of is if you are coming from terminals other than terminal 2. The free hotel shuttle goes from terminal 1 every hour but does not go to the new terminal D. From terminal D you either have to get a taxi of take the Aeroflot shuttle to terminal 2 and then take the Novotel shuttle. If you are not Russian you will get ripped off for a taxi. Fares of USD 100 would not be uncommon for the 5 minute ride. The shuttle bus is OK but be prepared to literally fight to get on as there is never enough seats for all.

When the shuttle from terminal D gets to terminal 2 the Novotel bus does not go from under the sign that says so. Come on, this is Russia. What do you expect? The Novotel shuttle actually goes from the same place the Aeroflot shuttle stops at.

The hotel is a standard Novotel which means functional but nothing special. Everything is clean, breakfast is OK but expensive and service is generally OK if you do not have anything special to ask fror.
