The atmosphere was great with music and buffet style bought to the table by efficient staff.
We were a large party of 30+ celebrating a 50th birthday but the evening was spoiled when the organiser of the party was charged £140 at the end of the meal for 8 people who did not show up! Why wasn't this mentioned at the start of the meal and why was a deposit of £5 per head taken when the booking was made? Naughty of the owners as we spent a lot of money at the bar on top of the meal. They have lost a lot of customers as a result!

I have been to the twin palace many times and is a great place to eat and drink in large groups I was there last night with a party of 63 there are not many places you could book for that amount of people.Everybody had a good night the food was seved hot and the staff all work very hard .There is also a very good disco and a nice bar area for those who like to stand and drink after their meal. Yes you are a little bit cramped but it realy is a weekend party place and reasonabley priced and you can make it a family occasion because children are made very welcome. If you are looking for a quiet meal and want to chat avoid weekends. It is also nice to find somewhere that you can have a bit of late night we left there at 12.45.

I booked a largish (30+) group booking for my daughters football team and parents, for an end of season celebration. We booked twin Palace as they seemed the ideal venue for a large party who wanted to make a 'night of it'. They also did a set menu which seemed good value and easier for a group to budget for. They were quite accommodating to start with but were annoying strict as to exact numbers and full deposits being paid upfront. I guess I can understand that with such a large booking.

TABLE - Upon arrival we found our table(s) to be very cramped together. Not ideal for comfortable eating.

FOOD - The menu included starters, duck/lamb course and mains. All of these were on an 'as much as you could eat' basis providing you ate what was supplied before ordering more. Fair enough. The problem was, food would arrive, be eaten and the plates taken away but before you decide if anyone wanted any more they'd brought the next course up. When you asked for more of the previous food they made out like they couldn't understand you. BE SURE TO HANG ONTO YOUR PLATES AND ASK FOR MORE IF YOU WANT IT, WHEN YOU WANT IT! As such, we ended up not actually having that much to eat and feeling slightly ripped off. The food itself was okay. Tasty, fresh and hot but more would've been nice.

ATMOSPHERE - This place is noisy. It seems to be the place of choice for numerous large parties and especially Hen Nights. Ideal if you want a lively, raucous night but not so great for a chat after your meal. This didn't bother our party too much as we knew how the place was but it could be a bit of an unpleasant surprise if you don't! You HAVE BEEN WARNED!
