Newly refurbished whilst retaining lots of Norwegian character Fjaerland Fjordstrue is situated in a stunningly beautiful setting with wonderful views from most of the hotel. We were greeted very warmly and enjoyed the friendliness and helpful information from Bord and Daler throughout our stay. The bedrooms were crisp and fresh and totally relaxing without complicated lighting and heating systems or flat screen televisions. Who needs T.V. with snowcapped mountain views from one window and tumbling waterfalls from the other. The en-suite shower room was fairly basic but more than adequate. The public rooms are light and airy with interesting furniture, objects, pictures and books with great views from them and the balcony which almost sits in the fjord. Meals were well cooked and wholesome using local products where possible and attractively served.
Mundal is a unique and friendly little village with it's three mile shelves of second hand books. The local cafe is a delight for snacks or a light lunch with friendly chat thrown in free. Don't miss the Glacier Museum, a pleasant two mile stroll away or alternatively catch the local bus. A stay here can be combined with the a break at the Balestrand Hotel also highly recommended.

Room Tip: Room Kaldakari 105 which has two window views.
