For me it felt like this guest house was in the middle of nowhere. It was a bit difficult to find, but once you step inside the gates you are in a different world. It is a beautiful country house. I arrived in the middle of a gathering of family and friends and was invited to join with a glass of wine. It felt very welcoming. Sharing some left overs with the host for an evening meal made it feel even more like home. The house is very nicely decorated. I had a nice room, bed was a bit too firm for me but I guess some people like it that way, and the bathroom was downstairs.
If you visit you should not forget to buy some of their wonderful home made marmelade. I enjoy the orange marmelade now every day for breakfast, and it is delicious! It makes me miss Malta.

Room Tip: If you have a room without bathroom you need to go downstairs. For me it was fine, but if you are the kind of person who wakes up in the middle of the night, you might find it more inconvenient.

Last night tonight of a wonderful weeks stay with Violet and Albert at Ta Bertu.
A beautiful Maltese home awaits you with all you need for a fantastic holiday.
Set in beautiful gardens with a fabulous pool, you are made to feel totally welcome by your hosts who are full of information and helpful advice if you need it.
What you do need is a car, as the house is off the beaten track (quite literally) and to make the most of the island and all the wonderful places it is a must.
Lovely typical Maltese bedrooms with bathrooms close by and good showers.
Breakfast is simple but plentiful and violet will cook for you in the evening if you request it.
I cannot recommend this highly enough..... Thank you violet and Albert for a truly fantastic stay.

We stayed in Ta Bert for one week in the middle of July. During our residence in the farm house we felt as a members of a large and happy family. Violet and Albert grandchildren became friends with our children.
They spent a lot of time and effort creating a wonderful home. Also, they generate a wonderful jams and wine.

Room Tip: It's more than just a temporary residence it is opportunity to plunge into the real amazing family with the best Catholic hospitality traditions . This is great!

This large guesthouse is lovely and the owners Albert and Violet are really lovely people they made us feel so welcome, we ate there for the 2 nights we stayed and the food was really lovely. The grounds and pool to the guest house are really big and Albert showed us around the gardens, we tried some of Alberts homemade wine and Violets marmalade they were so nice we had to buy some to bring home, the only downside is the location, it is a little bit far out of the way.

Room Tip: we had the annexe and it was really lovely

If you are thinking about staying here just go ahead and book it and you won't be disappointed. The owners Violet and Albert are such a lovely couple who go out of their way to make you feel at home and gave us some excellent tips for restaurants and things to do. They even made us a sandwich to take to the airport for lunch on the last morning so we wouldn't have to go in search of a sandwich shop or pay airport prices! The location is perfect if you are looking to escape the crowds and stay somewhere unique and beautiful, instead of at a generic hotel. It really feels like you've got away from it all once you're inside the grounds. The rooms are clean, nicely decorated and we had a decent shower. The swimming pool is a decent size too. The owners have their own grapevines and orange trees and make yummy wine as well as jam/marmalade, which you can try for breakfast. We really couldn't fault anything about our stay highly recommended!
